I sure like the course north of 105.  I have ridden the ironstar course 15-20 times, but the side roads IMTX takes are nice.  I can tell the first part of Osborn will be a "rest area" with in going down hill most of the way and it is very shaded.  also,  I can see where some will blow up on the false flats and rollers heading back towards Dobbin (or maybe I am just weak right now and felt it today).

Expand on this Patrick, what mileage marks are we talking about here?

I rode nearly 90 miles of the course on Saturday (less the most NW corner of the course) and thought the hilliest/most challenging part of the course was the Ironstar portion of the course, which were miles 24 to 60 of my ride (probably mile 75 of actual course).  Dobbin, which TriPatrick is referrng to, was at mile 60 of my ride or close to mile 75 of the actual course.  The first 10 miles and last 20 miles were relatively flat going through The Woodlands.

Wish we could have Saturday's weather come May....slightly overcast and in the 60s for most of the ride.  It was a perfect day for a ride.

What? No monthly totals bragging posts yet?

I know some of you crazies will yawn over these totals but I'm pretty proud of myself for sticking to my plan after nearly zero activity in the previous two months...TJ - have I redeemed myself?

January's totals:
Bike:15h 20m  - 263.2 Mi
Run:14h 19m 45s  - 101.44 Mi
Swim:9h 05m  - 24850 M
Strength:15h 00m

Of course, you can verbally abuse me some more and it might motivate me to do even better in Feb...

Going through the national forest you can see the elevation changes coming.  On the road back to dobbin you can see a few, but the road seems to climb when I think it is flat (not to mention the headwind).
Of course, I hope in 3-4 weeks I will not feel this way

I'll play, though some of you really throw down some intimidating numbers!

January's totals:
Bike: 20h 36m 12s - 361.37 Mi
Run: 10h 32m 27s - 60.48 Mi
Swim: 10h 55m - 30540.96 M

Interestingly, I ended up missing a run or so but apparently did not miss many swims...

What are your thoughts on speedsuits for the swim?

I'm a swimmer and the thought of wearing a tri suit for 2.4 miles and the drag that it creates really doesn't excite me.

I haven't done much research on speedsuits, but I think that the savings in drag (maybe not time but definitely energy) would be worth it.

Any good ones around $200 that you could recommend?

Bike: 20h 23m 46s - 361.19 Mi
Run: 20h 26m 47s - 102.17 Mi

That's right, still no swimming. Excited that I actually ran more then I rode, that might be a first for me
