Subject: RE: Nibbs XIIIGood morning, Nibbs.
Wow, Cat. That's a lot to digest (no pun intended ). My thoughts on switching jobs - I'm all about happiness. I don't care if they give me a million dollars if I am too busy, stressed, overworked to enjoy it. Or doing something that I absolutely can't stand for the majority of my time at work. Life is short and precious. I do not want to be chained to something that will make me miserable for more money. Yes, money is a good thing, but it is no reason to "sell your soul". If this new opportunity sounds like something you would enjoy, fits in to your "big picture" of progress on your career path, and wouldn't cause you an unbelievable amount of stress, it might be worth jumping ship. There is a lot to be said for staying with a "stable" company than going with a risky "upstart ) one. But you are young. If something were to happen to the newer company that your old boss runs, I'm sure you will land on your feet
Most of the language you used describing your former boss and job is very negative and you expressed how happy you were to leave. That looks like a big red flag to me that maybe this opportunity isn't the best one.
Good luck! And remember this is advice coming from a 37 year old lifeguard! |
