Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Lunch was not so healthy (or good, even). Actually, now that I think about it, all I had until 4 pm was coffee. Weird. Anyway, dinner was vanilla french toast with fresh sliced strawberries sprinkled with a little powdered sugar. It was soooo yummy! |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Good morning Ghoulies! Got up this morning 3:30 for some reason, showered, breakfast, drove to work. It's been awhile. I have a ton to catch up on this morning. Most of yesterday was spent sorting through emails. I actually have WORK to do this morning. Not sure if that's good or bad yet. My daughter is getting sick. She missed her basketball game on Saturday because she wasn't feeling well, but she played Sunday. I think she's coming down with a cold, but the first time she says her throat hurts she's off to the doctor's office since I just had strep. |

mwahahaha What am I saying? What's a gouhlie without an adventure? Kendra, Robin, where do we start? Hmmmmm! Do we start with the bikes? The margaritas? The Weird Goes Pro in Key West? The Wine? The bartender who got Kendra "happy"? The hubby who did a 1/2 mary with no training (and beat us all)? Better than Sex restaurant (not)? I guess Key West has a lower expectation in that department than we do, LOL. |

MotoQueen ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Good morning Ghoulies! It is supposed to get to almost 70 degrees here today. That is crazy. No wonder we all get sick, 20 degrees one day, 70 the next. It is very cloudy. Three more days and then I go and talk with the new Dr. Hubby is going to go with me. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Afternoon Ghoulies, (almost evening for us east coasters). I had to drive around the state today. It was 73 and sunny. At least I got to see it along with my hazardous waste sites. I also saw my first daffodils and creeping phlox blooming today. The star magnolia has buds open, too. That is not unusual. It will open flowers each warm spell than BANG burst out in full bloom in spring. All of this just makes the 40 degrees tomorrow with rain and wind harder to think about. |

I guess Key West has a lower expectation in that department than we do, LOL. Yes, my hubby would be in soooo much trouble for doing the 13.1 with no training AND beating us all by a minimum of 5 minutes, if it weren't for the blisters and blood blisters on the bottoms of both feet and knee pain that made it hard to move for the better part of a week. I told him that's his payback.
I loved having the beach cruisers to motate around town on! Well, once I got used to one gear and coaster brakes, that is.
We did have 2 of the best cabana boys. And our sherpa man wasn't too bad, either.
Robin jumpedin the pool with her running gear still on as soon as we walked in the house. She did take off her watch and shoes, but everything else went in with her, including her finishers medal and her race bib. And she stayed there floating with pool noodles under her arms and a glass of wine in hand (did I mention the guys took really good care of us?)
I took some pretty interesting self-portraits while running the race. One with Hemingway's house behind me, one with the southernmost point marker behind me. And a few with palm trees and/or ocean.
Lets see, what else? Robin? Any interesting stories to add? |

Good, I'm glad he's going with you, too. Maybe you guys can ask if there's been any advances in knee surgery/treatment while you're there. He looked pretty miserable a few times while we were in KW. Please let us know what the Dr says. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() You all are talking about weather--it's been warmer here too. We were up right around freezing today. It has snowed about 6-8 inches in the last day and a half here, it rained Sunday up until it turned to snow Sunday evening, and it was foggy and 30 degrees on Saturday. Pair that fog with the high particulate matter we had here for the previous 10 days and it was downright difficult to run the 5k race Saturday morning.
I'l take freezing rain and fog and snowmageddon over the super sucktastic air quality we had. (our fine particulates in our air were more than triple the "ok" levels per the EPA. And the highest in the nation for over 10 days straight. No wonder so many people in Utah have asthma.). |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Has anyone else had recovery from a race/long run take FOREVER? It's been well over a week, and I think I felt better right after the race. LOL. Probably not, but still. I ran a little Friday, a 5k Saturday, and then tried to run today and basically couldn't. It's been achiness, some joint pain, some shin pain, and now the bottom of my foot is sore. Actually, both feet, just where my arch meets my heel. Help! |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Morning Ghoules. What's happing? Key West additions: The sunset at Malory Square people watching in addition to the sunset itself. The unicyclist juggling while blowing fire out his mouth calling out, trying to get the crowds attention from the other juggling unicyclist: "Everyone, LOOK AT MEEEEEE. I am better than him.... I am putting FIRE IN MY FACE". The dreadlocked pirate with two palm fronds, "hiding in plain sight" jumping out at people for money. For the record, he scared a few but we never saw any money collected. Of course Jim's catching a 5+ foot shark and a 4 foot barracuda (both went back to the sea, grumpy but safe). Kayaking in the mangroves was wonderful. The coconut palm in the back with tons of coconuts on it. We were just waiting for one to drop and take one of us out. Being able to walk/ ride to fabulous restaurants and eat outside in January. Laughing about (but not actually trying on) the shorts for a Ghoulie Girl shot. Can't say enough about our own personal paparazzi and Sherpa crew for the race (Kendra and Frank are awesome). Having multiple cabana boys is always good! add to those some "odd" events like the wonderful real life Cops episode and the sleeping (not) beauty on the porch. |

You may need to get refitted. That is the most common cause of shin pain, I have heard. |
