I kid.  If I just finished an Ironman, I'd take a few weeks off too.  And wear my medal everywhere I went...

I really need to try gator tail again.  Had some given to me once, and I just did not cook it right, at all, I think.  I was very unimpressed with it, and there isn't much in the food world that I'm not a fan of.

Sounds like a plan. Maybe we can even meet at a race (after the beers and gator tail, of course), and have you beat my behind. Or we can skip the race and go straight to the beating thing.

Not beating remember... Love tap with a bite!  It will be my pleasure!

I will be reffing a regatta in Miami in the spring as well, maybe we can get together then.

I had some excellent gator tail in Sarasota a few weekends ago but there isn't really much to the taste.  It's in the seasoning I think.

The flavor is fine, but it was the toughness/rubberness of the meat that put me off.

Catfish, however.. you have to go to Louisiana for the BEST catfish, ever.  Middendorf's restaurant north of New Orleans is INCREDIBLE.

Add to that the rowing terminology and there are just too many dirty jokes to handle sometimes.

How often does your crew boat tip-over?  Is it very rare?  I see people out on Town Lake here in Austin rowing all the time in 40s and 50s. 

Cannot hear that word and not think of "The Princess Bride".

There is a joint in the Bass Pro Shop north of Miami that sells amazing gator.  I could eat tons of that.

Why would I change now???

That's exactly what I was thinking of when I wrote it.  I held back from adding the "I do not think that means what you think it means".

There's a theater here that has script-alongs with movies like The Princess Bride, So I Married An Axe Murderer, etc.

My wife would absolutely hate it, but I think it'd be fun.

I have flipped a single and a double but we have never flipped a 4 or an 8.  Flipping a 4 or an 8 is possible and it has been done but it is pretty tough; the singles and doubles are way easier to flip.  From what I have seen and done most flips happen at the dock anyway so you are out of the water fairly quickly.  For experienced scullers flipping happens but is pretty rare, flipping a larger crew boat is even more rare.

Being born in Latin America, my wife thinks I speak like Inigo Montoya (or the bee in the Nasonex commercials, or Puss in Boots...)

I'm not kidding, it has it's own weather system.
