Oh...and I'm thinking about trying one of these:

Eucerin Redness Relief Soothing Moisture SPF 15

Oil of Olay Complete Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 - Sensitive Skin

People seem to think either are ok, but haven't gotten a sense of the greasy factor.

I use the Olay Complete SPF 30. I use the sensitive skin variation. It is not greasy or smelly and it doesn't make my face break out. And I am uber fair-skinned and sensitive. Now if I could just find a spray on sunscreen for the rest of my bod that doesn't make me break out.

Yeah, no kidding.  I'm using Banana Boat Ultra Defense, but I haven't tried the spray version.  That usually results in bad things.

I use the Coppertone Sport Continuous Spray breathable SPF 30 on my body (and face, because I'm so lame). It is very light and doesn't aggravate my daughters' skin (which is fairly sensitive).

I don't want to go to the pool today.  I'm tired and my head hurts.  What to do?

Go home and lay on the couch.

(No one has ever accused me of not being a slacker.)

I haven't even seen if this is possible yet, but I am seriously considering changing my entry to Aquabike for Sunday. My coach told me to race the swim and the bike as if I weren't running, then try to think happy thoughts while I get smoked on the run because I am doing an easy jog. So as I started mentally preparing for such a scenario, I thought why not just do the Aquabike so I can race the swim and the bike and not have to deal with the run? What do Nibbs think? Is this more taper madness?

Will you be happy with yourself if you do the aquabike, and not the whole thing? In other words, a week after it's over, will you say, "I'm glad I did just the swim and bike?" Or will you say, "Gee, I should have done the run, too?"

Is this "fear" talking? (ie: Are you scared of the run?) If so, it may not be a bad idea to go for it, and see what happens -- Especially if your long-term goal is to participate in Tri's.

Gee, I should really psychoanalyze MYSELF one of these days.... Eh, maybe not. Who knows what I'll find out.

hmmmmm, tough question Pam

I guess it depends on what your goals are and what is important for you to feel good and successful

on the one hand - sounds like you feel like you'd be more competitive without the run portion of it, so if that's more important, then maybe switch

on the other hand - you've been training really hard to do the whole race - are you going to be disappointed if you don't do all 3 legs?

so in other words - at the end of the race, do you think your satisfaction will be higher if you finish the whole race or place higher in the finish

not much help am I?

good luck! you know the nibbs will celebrate your success with you however it is defined!

Yeah, what Beth said. (Especially the bold/red part.)

Actually, there will probably be a lot of BTers there. Should be a lot of fun.

Eat chocolate.

Ooooo, that's the PERFECT solution!

Hold on. I don't have a headache, but I'm going to find some nice chocolate.

Thanks for the feedback. It is a tough call and I'm not sure if it's even possible to switch this late in the game. Part of me feels like it's wimping out not to do the whole 70.3. I'm not racing this to win. I'm not of that caliber. So placement doesn't matter to me. I have no time goals at all for this race. But part of me would like to just swim and bike because those are the fun parts and because I'm not 100 percent healthy and it would mean a shorter time for my family to be stuck at the race venue. Finally, I wouldn't have to worry about being lame (as in hobbling) the rest of the vacation.

It's at least worth checking it out to see if you could switch - who knows, that may be the deciding factor

so, (from my blog - I'm lazy like that - LOL)

update on my uncle - it's serious - really serious, but there may be options - we will know more in the next few days - hopefully he will make it through the night

You know - now that I'm thinking about this - the morning he had his heart attack, he was on my mind. I was watching GMA and they were interviewing Julie Andrews and showing clips from various performances, including Mary Poppins.

My uncle took me to see Mary Poppins, I was 3 - it is one of my very first childhood memories - How weird is that?

I thought for years that it was Supercalifragilistickissmealidocious, who knew it was Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious - LOL!!!

the other funny part of the memory is that I had like 7 cents and I handed it to him at the ticket counter and proudly said "I'll pay" - my mom always pays!

I answered my own question:

There are no entry transfers or substitutions, no exceptions.

That was from the Mooseman website. Oh well. It was a nice thought

So that means your going, and your giving that course all you can and the NIbbs are all cheering for you from all over the globe...You have repeatedly said you have no expectations on this race so go with the attitude of "I want to finish within the cutoff" and you'll surpass that goal.
