Good morning, Nibbs.

I got up this morning to swim. First complete workout of the week and it's Wednesday All the power was off at the pool but they let us swim anyway, thank goodness. If I had gotten up, driven to the pool, and not been able to swim after all the other stuff this week I think I may have exploded!

Mornin' Nibbs...

Looks like last night was a typical Nibbs night (chatty)...  No time to catch-up this morning... lots to do at work (why I got here at 6:30).

Glad you got your swim in Pam!!!

Don't know how much I'll be around til Mon.  Mom is coming into town, the cptr is in the guest room, and obese pesimistic mother thinks I should be spending every second I'm working out with the kids instead (hmm... maybe if she had worked out more we could have done more together and I wouldn't have been an obese teen
Yep, you got it, I'm SO excited she's coming... well, at least it's only for 4 days AND she hasn't seen the boys since Christmas... it can't be all bad, right????
Trying to be optimisitc about a pesimistic mother is difficult.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!!!!

Heather, stay positive and you'll have a great visit. Remember it is for only 4 days. Think about how you want your kids to treat you when you come and visit when they are older. I know that you are setting a wonderful example for them and being active with them you will have a even better relationship with them when they are grown. I hope my kids don't cringe when I come to visit or they come to visit me.

But then I'm a Nibbs. How could they?

Up all night with BT, early to rise in the morning and on BT, never turning Nibbs or BT off. Any of that help? LOL

kns57 - 2008-07-01 4:33 PM So Jen and Dee have stick figures. No more muppets I noticed on anyones avatar. Takes me a while to catch on sometimes. LOL Who else is going with a stick figure?

Stick figures are totally the wave of the future. Just like dippin' dots.

Umm whats a dippin dot?

Dippin' Dots are tiny beads of ice cream, yogurt, sherbet and flavored ice

Um. Why? What's wrong with regular old high-fat, high-sugar, high-calorie ice cream?

Good ol' food marketing gimmick...look at all the air space between those little balls of ice cream.  Fill up a cup container full of full fat ice cream -- HEAVY.  Fill up a cup container of Dippin Dots -- nice and light.  Great strategy.  Pay more for less...  I doubt they're using liquid nitrogen to freeze them...probably a depositor on a belt and a really cold freezer...

But my kids think they're cool...

Let's see... I went to bed at around 12:40, woke up at 5:45. But today is a 'take it easy' day so it wasn't that hard to crawl out of bed.

I'm still jacked from last night's ride. It kind of annoyed the Group B riders in the club that I was kicking azz and taking names on a single gear when they're behind on geared tri bikes

To be honest, though, I'm the slowest guy in the group. We have one woman, whom I'm guessing is in her late 20s, who can really kick butt that hangs with the guys and I can stay with her for a while. There's another guy that rides that's a climber like me and depending on how tired he is from riding during the week - he's a teacher on summer break now and is riding lots - we tend to ride together, but he's young - in his 20s - skinny, and can put on bursts of speed I don't have

Cat posted something before that sums it up well:

I'm grumpy.  I went to the GI doctor.  He read my file and asked me some questions.  Before he even did an exam he said "I doubt this is anything GI.  I think you pulled a muscle in your back and it's referred pain.  Just stop running."  Then he checks me and decides he should do more tests based on family history (my mom got colon cancer very young), but still basically thinks there's nothing wrong with me and repeats the stop running.

A) I seriously doubt a pulled muscle in my back would cause stabbing pain every time I run and lots of other times.  B) Shouldn't he at least checked me before he decided that?

I'm frustrated with the whole medical community.

The more doctors that I see, the more sure I am that they really don't have a clue....

Is there a med school at your university? I've had good luck with doctors at university med schools.....

I agree with it not being a muscle. That doesn't even make sense.
