Subject: RE: tripletmom01 mentor group - FULL!!!!!retiretotri - 2009-04-03 11:30 PM Ugh, my coach had me log everything I ate in Training Peaks for a few days. Not a pretty sight. Yes, I eat too much processed food. I don't eat enough fat. I don't eat enough calories. Which I don't get. If I am not eating enough calories I should be losing weight, right? My worst discovery? My Starbucks non-fat, no whip mocha is 170 calories. Who knew? ![Wink Wink](../jscripts/tiny_mce3.211/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-wink.gif) My soy latte is 230-270 calories. I look at it as protein. I eat very little meat, so therefore it is my meat of the day!!! ![](https://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/images/emoticons/smile.gif) Lori, I started logging about 3 weeks ago. I am down 4 pounds in that time. Once I figure out what I am eating. What I should not be eating, I could easily make corrections. My coach is going to figure out how many calories I should be eating. I used a formula I found on BT, like there are a 1000 of them, to calculate how many calories I should be injesting just for base metabolism. It was 1885. I stay fairly full in that range. It allows me to eat my low fat icecream sandwiches and Dove dark chocolate. 2 staples/treats of my diet that I can not let go of. If you are not eating enough calories, your body thinks it is in starvation mode. It conserves the fat as much as it can. If you get som excess calories it is more willing to deplete the fat reserves. I think is the main reason why some of us don't lose weight while working out like we do. We don't eat enough! ![](https://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/images/emoticons/smile.gif) Now, this is all just my opinion. Take it for what it is worth. |
