<----

Not much compared to others, but I'm feeling pretty good about it.

There are useless replies to one's own self-post

Cool Paul - but don't go too hard they all disappear
I'd say easy come/easy go, but it takes work to get those stars, and as you said, they all disappear.

Yes I do. I have one in mind but don't know how to write the code for it. I was hoping for a cool moving avatar like yours.

Can't help you there.  I shamelessly stole mine from another forum.

Okay all.  Here is the funny little tribike I built this fall.

After looking at the picture I see a lot of adjustments that need to me made!  The handlebars seem to have rotated a bit while my bike was in storage over the winter (or while I was riding it on Sunday).

I need to start a bicycle savings account.

My son finally woke up after his long hard night.  He's feeling much better and was able to eat something. Also heard back from the doctors office from my call this morning.  He should be ok. recommended eating mild foods and drinking lots of water. Here's to hoping he continues to get better.

Today is supposed to be a running day for me.  I'm still a little tired and my legs are a little sore so I think I will take a rest day.  I'm also still fighting this sinus thing.  I've been dizzy and cranky.  Yeah....this is an easy day.

Luv the handlebar tape Melissa - very cool bike.  If it gets you from T1 - T2 - who cares right?
The tape was on clearance.  I figured I would use Sale tape for my first taping job.  I did pretty well.

I think it is funny that I have carbon fiber aero bars on a steel bike.  I've been considering doing a carbon fiber water bottle holder too, just for the pure ridiculousness of it.

A carbon fiber water bottle holder with a steel insulated water container would be ironic.

Hi everyone.  I got in two good training sessions today.  a swim and a run.  And I am happy with both!  Smile

Tomorrow is a bike ride.  Of course it started raining tonight.  Hopefully tomorrow morning it will be dry.  But unless the wind is really blowing or it is raining buckets, I WILL ride anyway!   (convincing myself  LOL)

I am also still riding my old mtn bike because that is the one I will ride in my first tri in 3 weeks.  (because I signed up for the mtn bike catagory

Awe.  I wanted to see your new bike!  Can you change categories?

It is too late to change categories I believe.  And I am not sure that I would be really comfortable yet in a race on the new bike.   For instance, I had a really nice ride on it the other day using the pedal cages.  Came to a stop in my own driveway, and almost fell over because I forgot that my foot was in the cage!  I want to be a little more comfortable for an event.  My mtn bike just has regular pedals.

deehtz - 2010-03-16 6:48 AM Good Morning Twisters!

Yesterday was a rest day for me.  I also had a massage after work.  I was very pleased that I didn't really have many problem areas from the training.

The rest of this week I want to really push the training.  I am scheduled to do more workouts than usual if I follow my plan.

However, I might get  a bit of interruption.  My step-daughter will be induced Thursday if she doesn't go into labor by then.  She has done well thru the pregnancy, but now is developing some mild toxemia.  So the dr. says no later than Thursday.

If a workout gets missed, I will make it up at the beginning of next week which is a lighter week and starts a 2 week taper to my first event.  It is only a sprint, but it is my first, and I find that this "older body" needs a little more rest than I read about in some plans!  Wink

Hopefully she goes into labor on her own.  Is she late?  Is this her first?  So exciting!

Her  "official"  due date is the 17th.  But the baby has been in "dropped" position for weeks.  And yes it is her first.   In fact it is the first grandchild for all 3 sets of grandparents and we all live in the same town with the young couple!  We tell them that between the grandparents and the aunts, they really wouldn't have to raise the child at all.  Just keep passing her around!   LOL

Actually, they will be great parents.  Smile

wgraves7582 - 2010-03-16 8:34 AM I cannot wait for Saturday and my bike fitting & trial ride.

That sounds like fun!!!!  More details, please!!!

I ordered a new bike through my LBS and I have been picking up pieces here and there for the build.  Finally brought him the last pieces last night after work (stem, seat post, and rim tape) so it is all set for build up today.

Saturday we are doing a maintenance class real quick, putting the chain on, aligning the derailleur, fitting, and riding her for the first time!  I cannot wait

It is a cross breed bike but one that fits all my crazy desires!

Salsa Vaya
Awesome!

From the description in the link, this should be right up your alley!!  Have fun!!

dimplespoo - 2010-03-16 10:10 AM Hey teammates -
I am back from Chicago and I brought a nice flu/cold home. Figured that the attempt at a run on friday that stunk was the start of it and it just got worse.

I flew home yesterday and it was all I could do to breath by the time I got to my gate and today isn't much better since getting groceries this morning was a workout.

I am going to ask Dee if I can alter my run/bike goal - I should be able to do abs/stretching but I am not going to push the run/bike.

Sorry guys -

Stacie

You need to get well.  You are smart not to push.  You certainly don't want it to drag on because you didn't get the rest your body needs.  Just adjust your goals and help cheer the team on!
