Had my first tri dream where something goes wrong last night.  I get out of the swim and run to grab my bike.  It's not there.  I run through all the racks, no luck.  Turns out I forgot to rack it and it's still in my car.  I had practiced the whole thing in my mind so many times, I thought I had racked it.  Pretty funny.

Don't forget your shorts and you'll be fine!

..but at least you weren't naked, right? Before my doctoral comprehensive exams, I had recurrent dreams of profs coming to get my finished exams and my having to lock the door and tell them to go away because I didn't have any clothes on. Every night, same dream. So, I figure if you screwed up but had your clothes on, you couldn't have been feeling too vulnerable, right?!

Haha, thanks for putting that image in my brain :-).  I bet my dream changes tonight while I try to sleep on the plane.  Maybe I should tan....

OMG that is terrifying! And ironic because on Monday I too had a tri nightmare where the swim was in a lake and a storm was rolling in. Everyone was standing in the water waiting for the start and whitecaps were rising out on the lake. I chickened out and went to sit on the hill and watch.

Aww, that's not even a nightmare.  That's just a tragedy!

Then again, ?if that were my drea?m, I'd have lost my short and then been asked to help guide people into transition or something.  ??????My bad dreams always walk the line between comedy and nightmare.

Morning everyone.  Just got off a 10 hour flight.  One more short hop from Chicago to St. Louis then it's nap time.

Morning everyone!  Question.  It looks like I'll be running up a wet sandy beach tomorrow as I exit the swim.  Any advice on how to get the sand off my feet before slipping my socks on?

Some people have a water bottle at T1 just for that purpose. I just used my socks to wipe off my feet, but I ran a bit across grass so that helped.

No tri dreams.  I'm a bit anxious today though.  I've been cleaning the house to keep busy.  My wife kind of likes the results of all this training.  If I clean the house, I can probably race every weekend :-).

Good luck in Effingham tomorrow. Don't believe you will need it, you will do fine.  I was in Springfield IL this week with my father. Thought a lot of the Effingham and Mattoon Triathlons while there.

wgraves7582 - 2010-05-15 3:30 PM Howdy Ghoulies and mentees.  Just back in from an 85 mile ride.  My legs do not like me right now but I am sure they will live since I now have to run 2.5 miles to church to pick my truck up since we left it there last night and the wife is gone all day.  I see some walking but thankfully it is all downhill

You guys have a great day!!!  I see a huge nap as well

That's....inspiring! ...definitely intimidating, but inspiring, too!

Realized that the "jeez-I'm-being-strangled" feeling of my new wetsuit wasn't all just me - took it for a test swim yesterday, which didn't go well at all. I figured the swim would be my strongest piece, and was really bummed to struggle so much, partly bc the more I swam, the more strangled I felt. Emailed Xterra last night, and had a reply waiting for me after my brick today - they apparently had other complaints & have redesigned the suit to increase the neck size, and offered to send me a new suit in a couple of sizes to try - that's impressive customer service. Now I know why my training group rec'd the Xterra suits so strongly....

Did my 1st real brick on the sprint course this morning, though, and felt much better after that - was my strongest ride ever (even w/ new seat to break in, and after blowing a tire in the parking lot!), and the 3 mile run (just shy of the full course) was the farthest run ever, too. I really love that Adamo saddle.

Day was capped off with a lesson/practice from the local bike shop on changing my tire.

Nothing like preparation & practice. Only hope Mike's race went as well as my day!

Good morning everyone!

I won't be around much today.

My kids have Field Day at their school so I'll be there. I'm hoping the rain holds off, but I just looked at a weather map and it doesn't look good.

Have a great day!
