Morning Ghoules. What's happing?

Key West additions: The sunset at Malory Square people watching in addition to the sunset itself. The unicyclist juggling while blowing fire out his mouth calling out, trying to get the crowds attention from the other juggling unicyclist: "Everyone, LOOK AT MEEEEEE. I am better than him.... I am putting FIRE IN MY FACE". The dreadlocked pirate with two palm fronds, "hiding in plain sight" jumping out at people for money. For the record, he scared a few but we never saw any money collected.

Of course Jim's catching a 5+ foot shark and a 4 foot barracuda (both went back to the sea, grumpy but safe). Kayaking in the mangroves was wonderful. The coconut palm in the back with tons of coconuts on it. We were just waiting for one to drop and take one of us out. Being able to walk/ ride to fabulous restaurants and eat outside in January. Laughing about (but not actually trying on) the shorts for a Ghoulie Girl shot.

Can't say enough about our own personal paparazzi and Sherpa crew for the race (Kendra and Frank are awesome).

Having multiple cabana boys is always good!

add to those some "odd" events like the wonderful real life Cops episode and the sleeping (not) beauty on the porch.

I should have been there. Cry

Morning Ghoulies.

Wild night last night. Wind, rain, thunder. I am surprised that the power didn't go out. Schools are delayed because of debris in the roads! Flooding all over Western NC and our River is ROARING. You can hear it in our house with all the windows shut and the heat on.

I never registered because of my knee tendonitis. When I see the doc for my shoulder next week I am going to ask about my knee, too.

Has the river ever been high enough to threaten the cabins?

You know how things rarely go as I have planned?

This week I was going to start running/walking again. Keri has been home sick all week, and as soon as I get home she wants me. She is attached to my hip. I haven't been able to do anything including sleep. I took today off because I'm just worn out, and my husband has taken time off earlier in the week to stay home with her. I'm going to take her to the pediatrician today.

No, Thank Goodness. The lake is dammed so the water can only rise so much. Now the bank could collapse, the older cabins are more of a risk for that, they are perched right on the edge. So far so good.... (knocking on wood).

It felt like a ton of water fell in GA yesterday.  Today the skies are currently free of clouds.  Quite a change from yesterday.

Now on a different note:  Son's girlfriend has invited Frank and I to her parents house for Superbowl.  This would be our first time meeting the parents.  The dilemma is that Frank is a HUGE 49er fan and when he watches the game he gets excited.  He had been concerned about watching a game with the Ghoulies in Key West so he toned himself down and tried to keep pretty quiet.  (I thought it was quiet during that game.)  But with this being the Superbowl, he knows that he is not going to sit quietly through that game.  So, he is concerned about making a bad impression.  Plus if he waits for me to get off work before going to their house, he would miss the kick off.  They live over an hour away, so to go in two cars is not reasonable.

What would Ghoulies do?

I know that I would go, warning them that he is a big 49er fan and to expect him to act like he is at the game.  I'm thinking this is a big step for the kids to bring their parents together.

Go, give them warning and enjoy. There is nothing like watching a fan truly get into a game. He is what he is. It is a FOOTBALL game after all, not a formal dinner. How can you not like Frank, anyway?

I agree, Give warning if you like, but go.  Besides the son knows what Frank is like with football, right?  So he must think it will be fine.   Don't know what to say about missing the kickoff, LOL.

I had the girl at the pediatrician, and she tested positive for the flu. They gave her a prescription for Tamiflu, and we stopped and picked it up on the way home. I can't get her to take it though.

No school for her tomorrow, and no basketball this weekend.

Okay, we are going to the girlfriends parents for superbowl.  She said that her family is loud too and like football, so we are good.  Hubby can either head over with my son early or he can pick me up at work and we should hopefully get there by 6:15 so that we can say hello without missing the kickoff.  If not, I told my son to make sure his daddy gets to see the kickoff.

Wonder whose idea it was to get the "rents" together.  I like this girl, and would be happy to see a more permanent relationship, but I don't want to jinx anything.

Gad it worked out! I know what you mean about not jinxing it. We keep hoping for the girl. We already told the son's girlfriend that if they broke up, we get joint custody of her

givemashot - 2013-01-29 10:28 PM Has anyone else had recovery from a race/long run take FOREVER? It's been well over a week, and I think I felt better right after the race. LOL. Probably not, but still. I ran a little Friday, a 5k Saturday, and then tried to run today and basically couldn't. It's been achiness, some joint pain, some shin pain, and now the bottom of my foot is sore. Actually, both feet, just where my arch meets my heel. Help!

For the foot pain - have you tried using a tennis ball, or frozen water bottle to massage your feet? It's something you can do while you're watching TV, or reading, or yelling at kiddos .

Yelling at kiddos? Now WHO would do something like that?
