Just booked the flight to Seattle in June for a work meeting, but I am really thinking of getting there a day or two before just to hang out and see some sights. Anyone have any thoughts on places to go?  Pike Market seems like a must see; what else

I had about 10 items on my To-Do list. I got about 9 of them done.  I will do the last one tonight after dark. I am heading out for bike ride.  Have fun kids.

We are making fajitas tonight.  I shalll saute' some onions and bell peppers to go with the left-over steak from last night, make salsa and guacamole, then we will talk about all the yard work we did today.

GomesBolt - 2013-04-22 4:29 PM Chris. I strongly suggest you go back and say Haze Grey. That would be really cool to put the brand name in ship stencils and some ship numbers.

Problem is you'd have to scrape and paint it every few weeks.

That was kinda the original plan, actually, but instead of the brand name, I was just going to use my ship's hull number on the down tube (1197).  A little matte black along the bottom bracket area to denote a waterline, some depth lines up the front fork with perhaps a bow thruster symbol above the front drop out

Then, I remembered that I freaking hated being on that ship, lol!

Wellllll it all depends on your interests. Pike is a nice spot for sure. While you are there I would walk down and check out the SCULPTURE PARK as well.

You could continue the walk down along the waterfront and take the WATER TAXI across Elliot Bay to Alki. Right there near the dock is Marination Ma Kai where you can get the most amazing Korean/Hawaiian tacos. You can also rent paddle boards and kayaks right there too.

How long will you be here?

Also, not sure where you are staying but the light rail goes from the airport to downtown and is like $3 vs a taxi which is more like $30.

Of course I have an odd love for public transportation and see it as a fun perk Smile

I do the $1 airport flyer bus from the airport to right near my office because a) like you I have an odd affinity for public transportation and b) I can't see paying $50 for parking versus $2 for round-trip bus fare.  I don't even expense the bus.  Actually, I ended up sitting next to one of our key contacts one time by chance and we had a great visit on the bus.

Bottom line, public transportation is great!

We were talking about that the other day -- when we traveled anywhere we just hopped a bus or train to save moolah -- rarely did we ever use taxis or rent cars. It's funny, when we go to visit cities and they dont have public transpo we're all `Oh, right, so how do we get around?' Usually we just rent a car or get a cab.

I love public transpo.  One of the highlights of my trips.  Granted, trying to navigate the Tube or Subway in NYC with two giant suitcases in the middle of rush hour gets me a little anxious.  But otherwise?  I love trains and got all over San Fran on the bus.  It was great!

Yeah, I JUST did that. Only it was with one small suitcase so not too terrible.

Maybe I have been out of the dating game too long.  But man, what happened to just "find a nice girl/boy and settle down"?

Everyone has to have this, or make that, or be this...

I met my wife and she was living on a Futon in a tiny apartment, making something like 12k a year, no car, no driver's license, ate free side salads from the bar she worked at - sometimes working from 3pm to 10pm and only make 10 bucks...

Plus I was no billionaire.  I don't think I could stack up these days in the world...

Neighbor came over to have me help fix his edger. Right as we got done fixing it his wife and to little ones came over. I asked if he wanted a beer, (he is a cop that works with me also). Then the neighbors on the other side of us came over with their 3 kids also all under 4 years old. I don't usually drink on Mondays or ever on worknights to be honest. Something happened tonight. I guess because its been the first nice day over 70 degrees this year or the fact the second neighbor who came over has been transferred to NC and is leaving next week and we will miss them. But all 6 adults and 7 kids had an impropmtu going away party. After we drank my 20 or so beers both neighbors went home and grabbed beers from their homes. After 4 hours, lots beers and talking, wow, I'm half lit. Not cool for 40 year old guy to do on a Monday but very enjoyable and needed once in a great while. Good night TAN time to read to the kids before bed.

It's all the same difficulty, just the parameters change.  Things that weren't important before are now, and vice versa.  People also start to get to know themselves a little by the time they hit their late 30's, so they have a better idea (supposedly) of what they are looking for.

Ok, all that sounded good as I was typing it, but in reality ... I don't think anyone REALLY knows squat

My day so far:

Dog has stitches in her leg again so has to wear the cone so she doesn't bite the leg. Vet gave us tranquilizers to give to her so she sleeps through the night and doesn't drive us crazy. Wife gives the tranquilizer to the dog yesterday at 6:00 pm. Dog was wide awake from 3:00 am driving me crazy.

Spain detains 2 suspected terrorists because they fit the profile. I have no problem with this.

Excellent strawberries for breakfast this morning.
