So, I was looking at a bike forum's classified section and they have a sticky (maybe we can also, if this takes off) there called "Pay it forward" based on the movie. Not only are they using it to promote the themes of the movie (giving something at no cost and maybe the goodwill will spread) but also to keep a central post so that people know where to go. I have seen several threads pop up here and there giving free stuff away and then several replies saying that I wished I knew to look or where to look.

That thread also reminded me of when I just started triathlons, a fellow BT'er, ChrisM, gave me his polar heart rate monitor. All he said was to give it to someone else when you are done, which I then gave it to luv2flyjrn a bit later.

What I'm saying is, I know there are many BT'ers who have things that really they don't care to part with and it may not be worth their time to sell it. It's just cluttering up their garage or closet. And there are also a bunch of BT'ers who are starting out, who don't have the funds to start this expensive sport. I'm not saying that to give everything away for free, but just if you have something laying around that you don't feel like selling, you can just give it to another BT'er who may need it.

Anyone looking for a particular item should really post a new thread and put WTB/Trade in the heading. This thread is supposed to be for people who have the kindness in their heart to part with something for free when it's offered not asked. I'm not trying to be an , really. I'm all for asking for something this is just the wrong post to do it. IMO

But thanks for the clearification. I'm new to triathlons and BT, so I might blunder around a bit. However, if I had not ask I wouldn't have got in touch with trophyhusband about a pair of shoes. Next time I will post a new thread unless I'm giving something away.
