lastcall2003 - 2008-07-02 10:10 AM I changed my avatar *sigh*

Umm what on earth was the loosing penalty??? Im assuming thats what *this* is for...

LOL!

no, the *sigh* is because I hate having to change my avatar because my team didn't win -

the penalty was to change your avatar to something that would have helped you make 100%, it was kind of hard to think of something, since I made my goals but not everyone on my team did

it's ok though, the challenge served it's purpose and got lots of people motivated!

so, I wish I had spent more time on my actual bike instead of spinning classes

I was going to change my avatar to a picture of Sal since he didn't meet his goals this month

LOL!

Well at least there is lots of room to move with that interpretation... you can come up with all sorts of things to cvhange it to....

You could have put up fairy dust... then you could have magically made everyone at 100%

Fairy dust? I think your friendly Challenge Organizer would nix that as a penalty avatar. Pics of Sal, however, are approved.

eh, I'll just stay a 'fat bottomed girl' for the month - I don't want to make Sal feel bad, he wasn't alone in setting goals too high - sheesh I barely made it!

I have a high tolerance for ridicule...

I'm going to New York in about 2 weeks. It's starting to stress me out. I just booked a different hotel because the last one didn't have any parking.

Plus I have my written exams the beginning of the week we are living. I'm getting really stressed.

oh no - stress is not good

are you going to NY for work or pleasure?

when will you be there?

I am doing the NYC tri on 7/20.  My birthday is 7/22.  So pleasure.

We're leaving 7/18 and coming back on 7/22.

Hey...mine is too!

I'm grumpy. I went to the GI doctor. He read my file and asked me some questions. Before he even did an exam he said "I doubt this is anything GI. I think you pulled a muscle in your back and it's referred pain. Just stop running." Then he checks me and decides he should do more tests based on family history (my mom got colon cancer very young), but still basically thinks there's nothing wrong with me and repeats the stop running.

A) I seriously doubt a pulled muscle in my back would cause stabbing pain every time I run and lots of other times. B) Shouldn't he at least checked me before he decided that?

I'm frustrated with the whole medical community.

The more doctors that I see, the more sure I am that they really don't have a clue.... Is there a med school at your university? I've had good luck with doctors at university med schools..... I agree with it not being a muscle. That doesn't even make sense.

Yes, I actually work in a research lab at the med school and am on pretty good terms with a group of doctors.  I'm going to wait and see what happens on Monday, but I might go talk to one of them and see if they have a friend who would be willing to check me out or just talk about it.

It really doesn't feel like a pulled muscle.  I've also had a pinched nerve in my back.  Right now I have no pain in my back and that doesn't seem consistent.   What do I know, though...I'm just a PhD student.

Otherwise have they checked your heart etc? otherwise... maybe what yuo need is a physio...

Sorry Jen I got you and Dee mixed up... I will say this... GI issues are incredibly hard to diagnose, so many people with my condition initially get told its just a bug or something and get ignored until they diagnose it...

So, I wonder what other symptoms you have.. if you are worried I would insist on having a scope just to check everything out...
