Per the coach:

-Eat 200 calories every two hours
-Eat all whole foods
-No fast food at all

Eating at 6:15, 8:15, 10:15, 12:15, 2:15, 4:15, 6:15, 8:15, and 10:15 (adds up to 1800).  No real breakfast, lunch, or dinner--just eat at those times.  I am guessing that breakfast, lunch and dinner will need to be more calories to take in as much as I am burning through just being, breathing, moving, and exercising.

Any one else ever done anything like this?  Regarding whole foods (non-processed)--isn't darn near everything processed to some degree?  I have turkey and chicken breasts, cottage cheese, yogurt, string cheese, strawberries, apples, oranges, dried fruit, raw almonds, carrots, peppers, and 100% juices on hand.

Any other ideas?

Any other ideas?

Clementines; peanut butter is great (the natural kind, just peanuts and a little salt); broccoli etc sauteed with tofu, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, olive oil and topped with sesame seeds and peanuts*; blueberries; cantaloupe; salads; pasta with peas, olive oil and shaved Parmesan cheese; hard boiled eggs with mayo; chicken with cranberry relish (put cranberries, an orange, an apple, and some sugar in food processor); black beans and rice with salsa (chopped tomatoes, onions, olive oil, lemon, garlic, tabasco)

*you can make a yummy sweet and sour and spicy peanut sauce for this too: peanut butter, vinegar, olive oil, sugar, red pepper flakes, soy sauce - all to taste. Add water to thin it a bit)

Thanks for the ideas Babs!

Tammy-trust me, I would rather just eat whatever I want but she wants me to try eating more whole foods to see if it helps.  The 200 calories every two hours is a bit puzzling but is aimed at preventing your blood sugar levels from dropping.  More energy throughout the day and hopefully more energy for my after work workouts.

I honestly think I am her big experiment for the year.  Let's see if I can actually make an old, slow triathlete faster and healthier.

I will entertain her for the most part but I still plan on eating a few cookies/scones and having a few Starbucks mochas.  Wink

Well, I magically lost 7 pounds.  I started my marathon training in January and saw no results until about 2 weeks ago.  It could be so many things though.  I gave up sweets for lent, so that might be it.  I stopped lifting weights, but that was only once a week, and now I have ramped up my biking and swimming.  So that might be it too.  I don't care the reason, I am just happy it is coming off.  I would love to lose 5 more by the end of May.  Won't lose sleep over it though.  I feel great

Longest bike ride for me since last season, today.  2 hours, INDOORS  Gotta get the time in where you can.

If we keep on going you know what that means?

Tammy will have to deal with me whining about my IM training!

My running is getting all technical on me, tempo runs, LT, intervals, etc.  When did it all get so complicated?  I just try to do what I am told.  I guess you have to run faster to run faster.  Wink

I hear you.  I had to read my workout for this morning three times and had to ask my hubby what it all meant. Started with accelerations and then it was talking about LT repeats.  Finally figured it out.  Unfortunatley, today my HR monitor decided it didn't like being up so early, so it went all wonky on me.  I had to do the whole thing at perceived HR.
