Ooooooooo. I like it!

Sounds like an interesting team!

It is! Of course, I think it may only consist of 2 people.... LOL

The rest can always fake it!

I met with my surgeon and he wants me to have surgery in the next two weeks, so there will be no fall marathons for me.  I can defer one of them to next year, but not the other.  I'm depressed.  This really sucks.

I know it's the better choice, but it's hard to see it that way and it doesn't really make it less frustrating for me.

D001 - 2009-09-29 3:28 PM Halloween is coming up. I've brought Carol Ann out to play. LOL

Clearly she didnt get lost in a box!

Only because she's on my computer. And the computer box is one box that I did NOT want to lose! LOL

Should you ever lose her, I have a copy on my computer.

Wow she is so important Jen backed her up for you... impressive!

What can I say, I'm a big Carol Ann fan

Im not sure there is a big group of fans....

There's Jen. There's me. There's.... well, that's 2 of us. I'm guessing you're putting yourself in the "She creeps me out" category? LOL

I'm a fan of Carol Ann, but I do find her very creepy.

1) You're in pain, and you can't eat right.
2) Doing the surgery now means the pain will stop soon.
3) Yes, recovery will probably suck.
4) BUT after recovery, you'll feel better and you'll be able to eat better.
5) If you feel better, you'll be able to train better.
6) If you train better, you'll be able to race better.

Defer the one marathon. Write off the other. There are worse things in life.

Hi Dee! Speaking of tummies... how is yours at the moment?

I've cut out wheat, gluten, dairy, grains (except rice), everything artificial, and a whole bunch of other stuff. I'm also taking probiotics (L. acidophilus and S. boulardii.)

It's MUCH better than it was. But my diet is REALLY limited. I know it's not balanced right now, but this is the only way I can think of to figure out what's causing the problem....

How's YOUR tummy?

Tummy isnt great but better than what it was maybe a month ago - Ive let my diet slip a few too many times recently so I think a bit of it is pay back! (and had some VERY unpleasant experiences so need to be better)

Have you seem a doctor yet? Then get a referral to a dietician? Your body is going to need some more nutrients than that so its not a long term solution!

I know.  It's still a little sad right now.  Plus, there's always the being nervous about surgery.

I was a little relieved (happier?) when I found out I could still defer Marine Corps Marathon.  It's harder to get into.

Yeah being scared abot surgery is TOTALLY normal... just make sure you get all the information you need to feel comfortable and go from there

I did some running with Brook this evening. The loop that I ran is .36 mile.  I ran the first .26 mile of each lap at a sub 8 minute pace and walked the rest. I ran it 6 times.  The last run leg I ran at a 7:50 pace.

I want to know how the heck I use to be able to run a sub 6 minute mile.
