I was walking back to my desk and I noticed the clock on the wall said 8:45. I thought the day was going really fast. Then I got back to my desk and realized it was only 7:45 and no one had turned that clock back yet.

My kids got their report cards yesterday.

My daughter has a speech impediment and struggles with reading. She tries very hard, but it's not easy for her. She got an A- in Reading. The she did well with the rest of her grades, too. Her teacher showed me some of her standardized test scores. She tested at a second grade, 8th month reading level. That's not bad, considering the test was taken during the second month of second grade. Her math score was at a 3rd grade, 9th month level.

My son. My son is very bribable, especially with money. I told him before school started I would give him $25 for every report card he makes Distinguished Honor Roll (straight A's). I will give him $10 for every report card he makes Honor Roll (A's and B's). I have never been so happy to give anyone $25!

We bribed as well. The son, totally bribable. The girl, she can only be threatened. Bribes did nothing for her.

My daughter wanted to earn money, too. Between my husband and I we had $1.10 worth of change in our pockets. She was happy about that. She put it in her piggy bank as soon as we got home.

Sometime this weekend I'm taking my son, and 2 of my dogs hiking. My son was disappointed he didn't get to go yesterday so I told him we'd go over the weekend.

Mostly lots of catchup work here that has been put off until after the election. And getting ready to go camping in Fla next week.
We have a MT bike ride scheduled at the Biltmore estate and then dinner with some friends, but we may need to change that to go to a neighbors funeral

I am staying around the house to rake leaves, clean up inside, etc.  I will try to work in a bike ride and maybe a walk with DH and Peanut puppy. 

This afternoon is my long run (8 1/2 miles).  Hope the weather cooperates.

I am taking the girl to school in a few minutes, then heading to the ortho doc to get this lump on my heel checked out and discuss why I get so much lower leg pain when I am trying to increase mileage, etc. After that i thik I'll head over to an annual craft fair near my house. One of two things will happen: I will buy everything in sight, or I will come home with loads of ideas that I have no time for but will attempt anyway. But I love it, so...I'm going.  

I have no idea what we're doing this weekend. After last weekend's linseed oil vs wind matchup I'm not sure what I am up for. Although, the tile in the kid's bathroom does need to be finished. And a vanity and new toilet purchased. And the walls cleaned up and a fresh coat of paint added.
