Subject: RE: swbkrun's group - FULLYes I just use them for training. The cushion encourages heal striking which hurts knees. The lack of cushion teaches you to use the arch of your foot to absorb the shock of impact rather than your knee. You run 90 + percent of your miles in the cushy shoes, but with the proper foot placement and turnover when your foot hits the ground. Thus the best of both worlds.
Anyway lots of literature about barefoot running out there, and Utube clips showing impact with shoes and barefeet etc.
Waterdog is someone I respect on the BT board he uses barefoot running to keep his form true and he puts on alot of miles. |
