LazyMarathoner - 2009-07-19 4:23 PM Got in about 66 miles today so I'm only 3 stages and 45 miles from goal, won't be a problem. I think I have 4 more rides on tap on the schedule. My legs were beyond trashed from yesterday's sufferfest of a long run, I could barely walk normally when I got out of bed, but thank god the ride went ok. I don't know how my poor body keeps bouncing back, IM training has really amazed and humbled me.

Great job on the ride and the sufferfest run.  It is amazing what our bodies will do with the right training.

running4beer - 2009-07-19 11:23 AM Did about 27 miles this morning which is a 3 miles longer and 1-mph avg faster than last ride.

110.2 of 150 miles.  Just 2 Stages and 40 miles to go!

Made it to the end of the Minuteman Bikeway today for Stage 6 of TdF wearing my new yellow Bellweather jersey I bought yesterday.  I usually don't allow enough time before work to make it all the way there and back, so tackling the distance on the weekend was nice.  The end of the bikeway isn't the most climactic looking thing, but here it is.  Aside from a bike shop across the way, an old Boston & Main rail car sits next to the 1870s-vintage railway and freight house that have been historically preserved at Depot Park in Bedford, MA....

depot park

... or shall I say "Smokin' De-Pot Park"?  (Damn kids!!)

smokin de pot

LOL, freakin hilarious!!!!!!!!

Yes that is.  LOL

disturbed275 - 2009-07-19 7:14 PM We had a fun time.  The highlight was a game of whiffle ball in the backyard last night.

My highlight for the weekend was white water rafting today.  We declared war on the other rafts in our group and splashed away at them.  Mind you the temp of the water was 46 degrees.  It was freeeeeeeezing.

That sounds like fun!  We're vacationing in Colorado in August and white water rafting is definitely on the to-do list.

Hey team.  Sorry I've been MIA.  I had to adjust my goal down because I was sick for awhile and couldn't train very well.

As of today, I have my stages done and at 98.17% for my goals.  4.5 miles left for me.  I can do that by the end of the challenge.

For the most part.  I had pleurisy and my lungs aren't back to 100% yet, so they hurt after biking or running awhile.  It is really frustrating.

Easy trainer ride, stage 11 is in the books.  Time wise I have met the challenge goal.....# rides left is 2.  They will be short given my time and getting ready for the trip north.

Stuck doing a little catch up work for a meeting tomorrow.  Ugh.  Unfortunately this means I'll likely bail on the group bike and swim tomorrow morning if I'll be up late tonight.   I'll have to be sure to ride Wednesday and Friday since I still haven't figured out how to get my bike to the Vineyard this weekend.

I wish biking in the evenings didn't seem so congested.... maybe I can get a shorty in tomorrow night anyway.  Am I the only one who's scared of riding in evening traffic?  Or when it's close to dark?  I start racing home with the sun like I'm at risk of being chased by vampires.

Well, I haven't had to race the sun home in awhile, but I did race the rain clouds last night.

I hope you find a way to fit all of your rides in!  I'd be nervous too about traffic if I lived anywhere other than Iowa

Looks like we've got the same situation here with the clouds rolling in again.  On the bright side (or, should I say, not-so-bright-side?) since it was rainy this am, I may have bagged on the ride anyway if I got up at 5 and looked outside.  Not raining too hard now, but the swim is also iffy when it rains a lot due to run-off issues in the pond closest to me.  ICK.

I'm a wimp too.  I will not ride in the evening traffic or morning traffic around here.  We keep a bike set up on a trainer all year in the basement, which is where I get most of my rides in.  I also will not ride alone unless I'm staying in the immediate vicinity and not leaving the two neighborhoods here.  Luckily between the two, I can get in a 13-15 mile ride easily.
