Happychick - 2010-04-10 11:12 PM Howdy all! I kind of disappeared for a few days and i'm not sure I will make up for lost time in here (sorry) but I will say that I have been getting my workouts in and even managed to update the roster!

On another note, I got my one and only swim in today to test the ole shoulder and I am so friggen upset...it started bothering me almost immediately so I only did a few laps. I have no clue what to do now. This is the first time I have even come close to a pool in over a month ~ i've been adamant about my PT and ST and yet I still can't swim. I guess I will have to wait until we move and get settled in so I can find a doc/ortho guy who will set me up with an MRI immediately! How disappointing!

I've missed reading your monologues in the morning.Laughing  So sorry about the shoulder.  I can feel your frustration all the way across the Pacific.

Thank you Tim (and everyone else) for the well wishes!! Like Jay said before, there is a reason...Now if I can just get my hubby off the computer for a minute so I can get back to important things like giving you all something to read in the morns!

rnihill - 2010-04-12 12:17 PM Here's a question I have today...  Do any of you HATE your bike helmet?

My helmet is not anything fancy.  It's a pretty basic, boring one that I got about 5 years ago (when I bought a bike so I could actually bike in my first tri I had signed up for).  At the time, I didn't want to spend a lot of $$ on a helmet since I wasn't sure I would even survive the tri, or if I did whether I would ever want to ride again.  I just wanted to protect my noggin.

Yesterday during my ride, I was reminded how much I LOVE riding outside but how much HATE my helmet.  It gives me a headache everytime I put it on.  The straps dig into my chin and by the time I get home I feel like it's choking me.

For those that may actually like your helmet, is there such a thing as a more comfortable helmet?  Or am I just a big cranky-pants who may never be happy with a helmet?  I'm at the point now where I don't mind spending some money on a helmet for increased comfort (and safety, obviously).  I just don't want to throw money away looking for something that may not exist...

I think I'm rambling...  Undecided

You deserve a comfortable helmet - go buy a new one   I have 2 giro's and like them both!  My road is a lot more comfortable than the mountain bike one - but I can hook my headlamp and flasher on the mtn bike one so that is worm quite a bit more!

I have the same brand and have never had an issue with it...I've actually forgot that I have it on! Now if only I could get my bike to be just as cozy...

Well I am thrilled to report that we just might have a house to move into (or at least close on) when we get to WA! We have had our eye on a few houses and most of them have been snatched up so we kept expanding our search when we came across THIS house. My SIL went out with our realtor to check it out today and we are waiting on the video to be sent to us (via YouTube). I'm really excited to see it and as much as I hate to buy a house without ever actually laying eyes on it, time constraints don't really allow us a lot of room/time to play around here. One day we just might be able to take our time when buying a home!

Talk about stressful!  Doesn't the military assist you with relocation?

Got a crappy trainer ride in...  my stomach felt awful tongiht but forced myself to try to do something.  I seriously think I just ate too much today.  I do feel better now.  Not great, but better.  And I guess any workout is better than sitting on my rear all night!

I got a six-mile run after school today. It was so beautiful outside, and I ran a route I haven't run since last fall. Perfect workout. But now I need to take a nap before I go to bed. I'm shot!

It does but since Mike is retiring they don't help with housing anymore. It is a huge relief that they are providing the movers for us so we don't really have to worry about packing up everything on our own.

I got in a great treadmill run this morning.  Pushed the speed a little (relatively speeking) and was very happy with my legs and cardio.  Nothing like a good workout to get you out of a funk!

Sounds like everyone is having a busy day today!

I had to drive my husband and his car to the dealership this morning.  The old clunker will most likely need some major work to pass inspection and not sure it is going to be worth it.  I may cry when they call!  After driving 15 miles in the opposite direction to do that, we had to drop him off at work, take daughter to day care and then finally to work.  I have lunch planned with some friends today which I am really looking forward to.  Then, back to pick up daughter, hubby and other daughter.  Need to get to the store at some point - we do not have ANY fruits or veggies in the house which is not acceptable!   Especially when one kid is begging for cauliflower for dinner - what 3 year old does that?!  Also need to go buy some shin guards before my daughter's first soccer practice tomorrow and seeds for her class project tomorrow.

Hmmm.. forgetting something...  oh, yes!  I need to get a run in today!  Fortunately it is a "short run" day for me, because at this rate it will be happening after the kids get to bed.
