Bama, there's no contract. It's $25/mo for the masters and that covers it. So if I buy in for a month, I'm there a month. BUT, for new swimmers there's usually the grace week to let you decide if you like it

Sand, Frank is at Greystone out on Hwy 280. I know that Mtn.Brook Y is the one that wants Jeremy. Right now there's a coach there doing some work, but from what Jeremy has said, he's working to get in there and they're trying to work with him.

And I'M SWIMMING PENSACOLA IN 2011. I've just about got my brother-in-law to do it too (he's the one that placed 9th at Callaway for us in the relay too). I'm thinking it's highly doable and with some serious speed work, and weight drop, I should be alright.

Speaking of chatter I need to install my new bottom bracket.  That thing came in weeks ago.

I'm getting cold feet about the Marathon.  I do most of my running on dirt and the winter rain really screws up my schedule.

Speaking of the program, i have not done my first ride yet w/ the new powertap.

What, if anything, do i need to do?  Just get out/hop on the trainer and ride?  or is there some sort of calibration that needs to be done?  Obviously I don't have any historical data, so I don't have a baseline for anything yet.

Just start collecting data.  That's what I did when I first got mine.

If we're going to start this I guess that means I need to go find my bike.  It kinda got lost just like I forgot how to get to the pool after my last race...

x2

But play around some.  Do a certain hill in your granny gear, then like your chasing AC in the tour.  Find a 2-3 mile loop and ride it at different intensities.  And the all out sprint, because we've got to know your max power output.

Calibrate before every ride.  The zero point will drift due to temperature.  You using a PT hub, Garmin 310, what?

Funny part of looking at your power numbers for the first time.  You stomp on the pedals and see that you can put out 500 watts, no problem.  Cool!  Then you try and hold that for a bit and figure out quick that those numbers are very transient. ;-)

If you haven't gotten WKO+ you can get the demo and try it out.  Definitely try out GC to see if you like that, too.  New builds here: http://goldencheetah.stand2surf.net//>
I'm loving GC.  I found the interface in WKO+ to be obtuse. YMMV.

PT and the Joule 2.0 computer.

I'll look at the WKO+, and check it out.  Maybe I can get in a ride on Sunday for a bit.

I don't know the Joule computer, but I'm sure it can calibrate.  Definitely try both WKO+ and GC.  I liked GC better, but lots of folks feel the opposite.

What's going on this week?  I've got a 5K and a lot of work at a rental property.

I'm also waiting on some new pedals and bike shoes.

On another note I went down hard this weekend.  I was out running on the trails enjoying the awesome weather.  Not sure what happened, I think I was out for a minute or two.  I've got some bad rash on my left thigh and my right hand is kinda jacked up.

Yikes!  Hopefully that is all superficial and will go away soon.

What's up this week?  A sh.tload of work (why are proposals always due right before major holidays?  Whine, whine...).  Once I do get off, though, I will be heading into the country to do Thanksgiving with family.  I plan on three straight days of 8 mile runs since there is a good route there.  Should hit 100 miles for the month on the dot if I can get my runs done.

What kind of pedals and shoes?  I have been looking at getting a set of Keywins, but it is low on my list.  For next year I really need a good, deep front wheel.

Ouch. That sucks man. Exactly why I don't trail run. Weak ankles.

I'm starting to workout a bit again. Took about a week off post IM. I read alot on BT about the need to take minimum 2 weeks after IM race. I would have went bananas, not to mention the weight gain.

Guys can I do my Bike testing on the trainer?

You are correct but in a healthy way! At least I am telling myself this.  I had my company help with some of the foundation $575.

How much is the foundation slot?  That actually seems like a pretty good way to get in if they chip because it probably your out of pocket costs is close(r) the what a straight entry is but you don't have the hassle of trying to enter.

That sucks.  Hopefully you don't have any lingering effects.

I ran a 10k yesterday.  Went alright, I guess.  I wasn't expecting to do really well because I've been slacking off a bit recently.  However, I'm still having the problem I've had all year that I just can't seem to push myself on the run.  I felt like I was on cruise control the whole time.  Immediately after I felt like I had left a lot out there but I just couldn't push myself during the the race.  I'm head down to my parents for Turkey Day and am planning to do a 5K there.  Any suggestions?  Should I just go out and run it without worrying about time?  Pick a really aggressive split and try to hang on as long as possible?

It is double at $1150.  575 can be used as a charitable donation.  I also have the company I work with chipping in as well.  I was going to do IMAZ but really wanted to do Florida more next year.  Got to doing the math and I can drive to Panama City  vs Fly to IMAZ and it comes out not much more.  However, if I had decided to do this when registration opened I could have saved the whole 575 not sweating it just happy as I can be to have another one to look foward to - I think!

Just in my final week of full training leading into my taper week for the HM.  May do a Turkey Trot 10k (either w/ a group wednesday night, or race Thursday morning).  Other than that, just getting in all my runs, which may be difficult Saturday (scheduled for 10)....  after spending all day in Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl.  We shall see.

I have great ankles, I just lost traction.  Looks like some trail shoes are in order.
