I almost hesitate to call it a run, with all the coughing and wheezing, but the intent was there, right?? Now off to fold mountains of laundry so tomorrow and the weekend can be devoted to birthday planning and birthday celebrations. Ahhh... to be a kid again and WANT a birthday!! I still like birthdays. I don't like to make too big of a deal but I still like to do something. I guess I'm still trying to make up for not really having any kind of birthday recognition growing up. Birthdays were never a big deal growing up plus mine were always overshadowed by Christmas. I swore I wouldn't have a kid around Christmas and guess what happened. My son was born in December. I tried to overcompensate to make sure he wouldn't feel bad or overlooked. Yeah, I try to make a point to NOT start talking about Christmas until AFTER birthdays and Thanksgiving. It's hard with all the Christmas hype starting earlier and earlier every year... but I do want my kids to have a "special day". It's just crazy with #1's birthday on Saturday, #1's friend party on Sunday and then #2's birthday ON Thanksgiving. And my inlaws will be here for Thanksgiving. For my own, I like having a special dinner with my hubby... I just don't like him reminding me that I'm older than he is (by 6 months). |

Its hard to wait until after birthdays to talk about Christmas when the birthdays are Dec 10 & 15. My wife has fun with the age issue. She is the oldest but most people guess that her younger sister (by four years) is the oldest. I think sis is regretting all those years of tanning. Edited by pdbman 2010-11-18 12:41 PM |

People "compliment" me on my ability to identify with kids. I know what they're really thinking is that I'm just immature. |

I enjoy reading your posts. You seem to have such a good attitude about life, even when things are tough. I think that's why people like having you around.CONGRATULATIONS to the CRUSHERS!!! Our very own Rachel won the guess-Judi-run bonus round, so she gets an extra 15% added to her final total at the end. ALSO ... We are AHEAD in the CHALLENGE!!!! ... by two percentage points, and it's still waaaaay under where we're at in the month. So break out the knitting needles, keep shakin' those booties, exercise the bod, exorcise the Coke, and WIN!!! x2 X3!! I love you guys. Really. {{{MELON PRESS}}} I mean I'm doing the challenge this month because I said I couldn't live without you guys and I meant it!!! I've been given a LOTTA LOTTA second-third-umpteenth chances at life despite some pretty terrible mistakes, and I live a life of enormous privilege and resources. I try to be grateful for this in attitude and action every day. If you can't live without us then what happens next month? I suppose we're just going to have to have CRUSHERS REDUX. Or Crushers v.3. Whatever we want to call it. I like redux! |
