I was at friends for the game.  Some sat in one room to watch the game.  Seemed pretty quiet in there for the most part.

six or seven of us sat in another  room and played games.  Now we had a blast and were quite noisy!  Out here the kick- off was about 3:30, so most of us got there about 3:00.  We left somewhere around 8 or 8:30.  Lots of good food.  Surprised

As far as the game, I don't pay much attention.  Didn't even know who was playing until last Thursday when we were talking about the party.  I know that most of the ones watching weren't all that enthused about either team.

Sounds like you had a good time.

Good morning Ghoulies.  It has been a busy couple of days.

Friday - went to the dr.  He does not want to do surgery except as a last resort.  In a way, I am relieved, but then again I would like this resolved.  He did an injection directly in the area, so the hip is sore from that.  Then he wants more physical therapy, using ultrasound (which was not used the last time I went through PT).  So, maybe it will help.  Meanwhile...

Then, last week a staff member was caught making payments to their account without actually giving us any money.  So, I have gone through all of the investigations, talked with HR and today at noon I have to fire this person.  Not fun.  I am all nervous.  Have written out what I need to say and have spoken with HR about how to handle.  Now just need to get through it.

And to end the weekend, the 49ers lost last night.    We did watch the game at the sons girlfriends parents house.  The grandmother was very talkative, but the rest of the family not so much.  Nothing to dislike, just nothing to like.  I will chalk it up to everyone wanting to focus on the game and hope for better connections the next time we ever meet.

1) Hope you get your hip straightened out soon. Glad surgery is a last option though.

2) Sorry to hear this. Is anyone from HR going to be there when it actually happens?

3) It was a first meeting, and maybe they just didn't want to say or do anything to embarass their daughter or themselves. If the opportunity arises give it another try.

4) Hi

Ultrasound may help quite a bit!  Hope it does.

That is tough to fire someone, even in this kind of situation.  Hope all goes smoothly.  Will the library press charges?

In December, a long time employee at the Y where I work was let go for embezzlement.  I hear that charges will be filed, but it hasn't happened yet.   I guess it was long term and involving quite a lot of funds.  So sad....

Just amazing.  I can't believe that there is no check and balance set up for such positions.  In our local case, there was an audit every year, but obviously no one checked to see if the money was really in the account.

If you google her name you will find other articles. She was the Comptroller, she had control of the money. Apparently there were audits every year and it was never found. I don't know how that happened. I read 1 article where the police department said they were denied the funds for a new police car because there just wasn't money in the budget for it. How sad.

The only reason I knew about her is because a guy here at work went to the horse auction. He said he bid on a few things, but didn't buy anything. They only made a fraction of what they were hoping for at the auction, too.

Ann & Dee, no HR was not here for the meeting.  I have been dealing with them all week and had all the paperwork signed and delivered from them, but I got to do the so called honors of actually giving them their notice.  I'm glad it is all over and done with.  Stupid thing was is this person lost their job over $12.  Stupid.  They went into a database they were not authorized to go into which was the bigger issue.  They had only worked for us for two months.  Again, STUPID!!!

Your word is my command.... after this time. NO MORE!

I have bronchitis this time, just to mix it up. Bordering on pneumonia.

NOT the plans I had for this weekend.

Robin, heal up quickly and throughly.

As far as the game, I don't pay much attention.  Didn't even know who was playing until last Thursday when we were talking about the party.  I know that most of the ones watching weren't all that enthused about either team.

I had been told that a few of us would be able to play games while the big game was on, but the GF parents did not want to look for where they put their games.  So, Grandma and I were stuck sitting and watching the game.  Oh, well.  I would have brought a game with me if I'd known.

Yep, that is what happened to me last year.  I am so glad that we actually played games this time!

I would think the theft would be an issue, too. It starts with $12, but who knows where it ends.

If they weren't authorized to access a database then they shouldn't have had permissions to it, that's a simple fix.

Kendra,

I hate that you had to deal with firing someone. That sucks.

I hope the ultrasound works. It has helped folks I know a lot. Sorry the meeting with the 'rents was less than stellar. However, at least you didn't detest them. No need to be fast and furious friends, getting along is good enough.
