Theater Hopping Incident...

So my wife and I go to see "The Hangover" the original one and as they roll the credits, you guys know they show some pretty graphic and nasty stuff.  Well just as they roll the credits, these two old ladies walk-in and are standing there in horror at what's showing on the screen.  So much so that instead of laughing, everyone in the theater is cringing.

They find a seat and sit down presumably so they can pull out their tickets to figure out what movie they're supposed to be at and as everyone filters out of the room, they are still sitting there.

As I pass the girl who's at the door with the cleaning equipment, I say "You might want to help those two old ladies to the right theater, I think they were lost."

The next day when I told a guy at work about that, he laughs and says that when he worked at the movie theater in Florida, the old people were always the ones who would hop from movie to movie.  He said it's nice and cool in there and they would just go from theater to theater so he thought they were just hopping movies and walked-in on Zack Galifanakis in a compromising situation...  So I may have gotten two old ladies caught for theater jumping.

In prison, you'd get the shiv.

or arse raped by the blue haired granny with a strapon...

They have connections, I have heard - and run in blue haired gangs.

I need some mental floss after that visual.

I think there's a park tool for that.

Happy Friday TAN

I am having a hard time staying awake. I stayed up too late playing video games last night.

And I have to work tomorrow morning as well. Ughhh

No rest for the wicked.

Whatcha playing?

I'm almost done with Assassin's Creed III.  I'm sort of a "completionist" and try to do all the extra side missions and do all the missions and meat all the goals to get 100%...  I was playing so much, that I sort of burned myself out on it so put it away for several days.

I have Black Ops II waiting on deck (but still wrapped in plastic).

Black Ops II I was glued to it after my knee surgery. I am not doing so good with it. But I enjoy it much better then the last MW. The game play is better.

campaign or MP?  I have to be in a rare mood for MP.  I get my butt handed to me.

The only MP games I can sort of hold my own is the AC and Unchartered games.

I rock at MP but haven’t even tried the campaign yet. I have gold camo for 8 of the 9 assault rifles and when I get the 9th it will give me diamond camo and it swwweeeeeeeet.

I'm temped to pay for the upgrade if I got into it.  Mostly I lose because my weapons are week and the other guys have all the cool toys like RC cars and drone strikes while I run around with a basic .45 and M4

You know what amazes me about MP?  Is almost how they can get it to work.  That moves I make with my controller can be seen in china instantly.  Not sure how that works.

Another gaming question...  Anyone know the best place to sell back games?  I'm thinking a garage sale, honestly.  Take the middle man out.  I have so many games now that I don't play.

I also wonder when PS4 is arriving and if PS3 games will play.  I assume so since PS2 will play on the PS3

I rocked the hell outta the MP for Medal of Honor, but the newer shooters I'm barely able to stay alive 2 minutes.

I like looking at the world map while in MP to see what areas have the most players and you have little dots in odd places all by them selfs.

Of all the MP, I like MoH best.  It's the most "realistic".  CoD seems a bit cartoonish.  Not as bad as unreal tournament or something, but in between.  You don't seem to get the same feel in MP as you do in campaign mode for CoD.  It's pretty close between the two in MoH.

The magic of the internets.... but basically, electrons just travel that fast. When you move, a player location packet is broadcast to every player in the game.  Some players receive that packet before others.  Sometimes a player receives the location update packet from you before you receive theirs from them... thus the magical "lag" phenomenon where someone you can't even see yet has shot you.   It gets a little more complex than that, but that's the general gist of it.

It's not the same as a FPS, but somewhere I've got the source code for the game Myth III, and the multiplayer code is kinda fun to look at.  Kinda hurts the head a little, too.

Agreed, the MP in MoH just felt more natural to me.  Movement speeds, aiming, etc...  the CoD games just never felt right.

That what I figure what would happen all the time - so much so, it would make it impossible to play.  But so far, I have never noticed it, but I don't play much.  I understand a LAN, since it's all local/connected.  But the WWW?  Impressive.

Definitely impressive stuff; there's mechanisms in there to try to keep things sync'd.   Some games do it better than others.

LAN's are easy as there is essentially no chance for the issues to arrive as most packets can get from one machine to another in 2ms or under.
