Hi TAN!

How does this happen?   Now that I've gotten one job offer and accepted in writing (though my background check hasn't been completed yet), I get a call last night saying that a position has opened up at the firm that I've wanted to be at from the day I met the managing partner a few months ago.  I've got an interview with them today (going to be leaving in about 15 minutes), but how much of a schmuk would I be to renege on a job that I've already accepted?

Oh, and I reached for the wrong thing and accidentally used Oust as hairspray.  At least my hair will smell nice?

do you have time to wash your hair before you leave?  i'm not sure your floral air freshener scent will win them over.

and you can absolutely go back on your offer.  another opportunity came up and you had to take it.  done.

Going over my hair again with a flat-iron helped a lot with the smell.  It's practically gone now, so *should* be okay.

Thanks for that - I have some weird sense of loyalty and never wanting to "do the wrong thing" so it's kind of odd to think of looking out for myself first.

Okay, off to the interview!

That would suck to renege like that, but be up front in the interview today that you have this deal and that if they are interested, they need to let you know ASAP.

If they offer you a position, weigh your newfound options  :-)  If you take it, it's rude and all that to the people you just accepted the position with, but your job is to look out for you.   Signing that offer letter just states that you have accepted their offer... it's not a contract.

I know it would be rude and it would suck - but for once, if this is the right thing for me to do, I'm gonna do it.

Off to the interview!

I often wondered about this.  It is an interesting balance.  But if the second position is a better fit with more opportunity.  I would not feel too bad about switching since you have not started working.

And this is routine stuff in the work place for managers and HR.  We all realize you are actively looking for a job and if you are a good candidate we expect you to get multiple offers and need to choose.  You are interviewing the employer as MUCH as they are interviewing you at this stage in life.  ^^^^ so agree with all of the above including......

If you smell like Oust you should wash your hair if time permits. It could be a deciding factor if two strong candidates or long-term nickname?!?

Hi TAN... Drive by!!

I'm here for a drive by as well. Just got back from the hardware store buying bolts for the garbage disposal which I accidentally threw away yesterday. Still can't install the sink until I paint though

Just for the record.  If I see Mr Jack Frost again this month or anytime before 15 October I vow to kick his butt.  This series of "oh look I can make it snow" every 3 days really sucks.

Speaking of crazy.  My thyroid doc schedule a "routine" test as part of all the followup.  Basically, a pharmaceutical cocktail I take for a couple days running and then they look for something.

She took the liberty of ordering the test.  I just got a call from the pharmacy that's going to be my master mixologist for this treat and they said that it's going to cost THREE GRAND!  Holy Frejoles...

Most should be covered, but DAYUM!

I sort of thought so.  They look a little tilt shifted and sepia adjustments.  I still like though!  I give you credit for the composition.  The shoe on the track is well done.
