BTW, the first IMOO RR is up. And the dude wrecked on the bike, seperated his shoulder and still finished the whole durn thing.

Mercy!

Wow...that's crazy. Someone got stung by a bee on the bike, got an epi shot, and then finished the race. I couldn't do that.

Ummmm you're supposed to go to the HOSPITAL after an Epi shot.. I'm suprised the medical staff didn't force him/her out of the race to seek medical attention..

That's what I've been told.  As far as medical, if they didn't know he took it, they can't really do anything about it.

I get so shaky from epi that I would have to stop.  No chance I'd keep going.

So, who has a good comfort food recipe?

I'm thinking a caserole, or crock pot dish or something along those lines.

I made pot roast with potatoes yesterday.  Put the roast and cut up potatoes in the crock pot with 1 quart of beef stock, seasoned salt, pepper, and a little soy sauce.  Next time, I think I'd add a little hot sauce.  Cooked on low all day.  It was good.

mmmm, I lof pot roast.  Mine aways seems tough.  I'm an awesome cook (if I say so myself!) and can cook anything, but pot roast has been my one and only nemesis for years.  I get correct cut of meat, follow recipes to the letter, and it's comes out like a tough chunk of flesh.  My mom's would just pull apart in little strings and stuff - so good.

Maybe the crock pot is the ticket.  SUPER long cooking time.

Crock pot is definitely the key to it.  I used a bottom round roast.  It worked out really well.  I've never really had a problem with it, but I always make it in the crock pot.

Crock pots are great. you can through in a roast and ignore it-just add a few veggies now and then.

I'm I going to have to pull out an HTML book?  Undecided

Ribs are best IMO when prepared by a good BBQ place because they smoke them for hours.  Low and slow is the way to do them.  That's why the crock pot seems to do them well too.  I know the purists would turn in their grave to hear someone using a crock pot, but it's simple, and it does a really good job.

I think I learned it from Alton Brown - I have a man-crush on Alton Brown...

If you are adding a link, use [url = ] [ / url] regular HTML doesn't work.

Living here, I have a lot of options.  There are two places I like a lot.  They both smoke the ribs.

Eh...who cares what purists say.  If they taste good, it's worth it.

I'm just trying to use the strike through effect on my sig line.  Maybe the BT server doesn't recognize it.  I've been told that some don't.

My family's trick for pot roast-we cover it in pesto after browning it a little.

I have noticed that HTML stuff doesn't seem to work as well in the signature line area for some reason.  Some things work, some don't.

That's why I skipped Stampede yesterday. My knee has been getting better daily, and there's no reason to rush the process, I'd rather be fully healed before running again. It is also rather easy in one's middle 40s to think that once you're 'in-shape' that you're 25 again, but you're not. It takes a while to heal up right. I could've run the 10 miles on a knee brace and finished, but all it would have proved is that I was stupid. I'd be groaning about how sore I was today and you would all be mocking me for being stupid to run in a meaningless race.

Amen to that my Iowoegian brother man.  Takes awhile to heal.

Lance back to Astana...what do you think about that?
