The track surely allows drivers for quick race, a rare feat for frites eating Belgian. Red Bull would dominate this year, McLaren should prove they belong on the podium, while Ferrari is on holiday. |

An F1 summary on a FOOTBALL forum....got your internet wires crossed? :-) I guess, with the way ManUre was scoring at will, they probably looked like an F1 car. THAT was embarassing. So much so, Arsenal is now giving free away tickets to those that went to OT to watch the debacle. |

They need to dump Walnutt...he is awful.. Looks like a 2 horse race at this point but still early |

They need to dump Walnutt...he is awful.. Looks like a 2 horse race at this point but still early I only saw the first half and that was disgusting enough. Can't imagine what the second half looks like. I think you are right it is a 2 horse race, and both horses from the same city. Chelsea looks old and very beatable. BTW, horrible accident with Drogba. I don't like him, but wouldn't wish that hit on anyone. Arsenal.... well......they really don't look good. At all.....wow. Tottenham depends on if Modric stays and even that is questionable. Did they hit their peak last year around Christmas? 'Pool has a definite chance to even finish 3rd, depending on how all the others do. And as I look at the remaining teams, I would say that of the three that popped up, none impress me on staying up. That said, if it were any of them, Norwich, maybe, as the only one? Fulham has had a horrific start. Then again, so have Spurs and Blackburn. Of those that were up last year and still here, to go down would be West Ham finally? And maybe WBA, but they proved me wrong last year by staying up, so who knows. Still, it is a long season, and only 3 games in (2 for 2 teams). Your thoughts? PS. Fire have won 2 in a row. Didn't know what to do with myself after so many draws!!! |

Surprise was Stoke....not sure why they spent so much to go from 14th to 13th this year..... I agree. Ultimately, it wound up being a $ decision. He wanted more than NESV was willing to shell out. I knew he was leaving, I'm just ultimately disappointed that it was Chelski. Then again, they were probably the only ones that could afford his fee. |

Champion 15211 Southern Chicago Suburbs, IL | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? USMNT v Costa Rica.... Couldn't stay up to watch the whole thing cause they started so late but did get to watch the first half and I was encouraged. Sounds as if they lost focus in the second half and started to pier it on again after they web down 1-0 but it was a bit too late at they pout . First half showed great movement and pressure and attractive footy. If this is a hint of things to come we might see some really intriguing games. BUT it is only HR second game in the Klinsy era. Only time will tell, but this might have been a better result in losing than the tie with Mexico. Thoughts. |

Champion 15211 Southern Chicago Suburbs, IL | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? Hmmmm.... so I was in meetings all day yesterday and couldn't catch the match. That and it wasn't updating on the phone, for some reason. Sounds as if it was a "learning lesson" for many of the younger players as well as for Klinnsman. It really shows just how weak we really are, from what I've read. Some had a decent match, but for the most part, we were outplayed. And so now we have to wait till Octover to see the next match. Against Honduras. Would love to see us continue to schedule teams, HARD teams, as friendlies, outside of our conference (which essentially negates the HARD teams, thing). But that is for another discussion. |

Arsenal are a shambles....I like Wenger so its painful to watch.. Howard Barton and Keith Costigan are the worst color commentators ever....Barton's half time analysis of Chelsea being outplayed, lacklustre and devoid of creativity against Manure showed he is a moron.....Chelsea could have been up 3-1...not down 3-0....2 offside goals and some fortunate bounces for Manure and some saves/misses at the other end...could have been a different story...it definitely was not a dominant Manure...even Evra admitted that in his post match Inter is in free fall in Italy...even Real lost this season already.... What say you? |

What say you? What can be said. Chelsea were definitely unlucky. Same can't be said for Liverpool. They were just plain ugly. Didn't get to see the match, but the highlights were miserable. Of course, King Kenny is running on the "the refs are against us" platform, ala Sir Fergie. Since I couldn't catch the entire match, though, I can't really comment. But to get two men sent off for double yellows on each is problematic to say the least. And today is the Carling Cup. Predictions at the half? |

I'm afraid the first few games of 'Pool's season is just a continuation of seasons past. Inconsistancy. Which I personally think they gave away when they got rid of Merilles (sp?). ManUre's weakness, for the season, appears to be their back line. They made some VERY silly mistakes and could have given the game away if Torres were the player of a few years ago. Glad the season is under way, though. Oh, and my wife is now a Fulham fan, full on, now that they have my favorite player, Riise AND her favorite, Dempsey. If that one get's televised, she might have to leave the house. |

Didn't think about it from that perspective. Interesting. Thanks. One question, though. Does it not potentially open up a slippery slope IF ManCity lets him off lightly? Also, how do you think the Players Union there will react, if at all? |

Expert 1207 Parker, Co | Subject: RE: Any REAL football fans here? Depends on the punishment....looks like Man City suspended him - which he probably cares little about...the players union may get involved if they terminate his contract but if they keep it as an internal matter the union has no reason for action. Tevez is an atypical situation due to the ownership issue..hard to say what will happen |
