heading out for a run! short but sweet run! gooooo teamies!

Nice job! I got mine in too!

*off to a nice start TOPpage*

heading out for a short 20 min run...this is a taper week...for my big race this weekend! ;_)

GOOD LUCK!!!!

GO Julie Toppage!!!

Thanks Katie!!!!  I just found out it is supposed to be colder then usual...so here is that layering thing while running...but still will probably underdress rather then over for this dont want to haul a bunch of clothing around my waist and sure dont want to overheat...

although I did just read that any clothes that you throw to the side will be picked up and donated to shelters near by....thats nice! but not sure Im ready to donate my zoot jacket...

I'm facing the same situation.  It's supposed to be low 40s at race start.  Bought a cheapo $5 long sleeve shirt at wal-mart that I will be donating

man...I need a Walmart near me...cant tell you the last time I got a LONG sleeve shirt for $5. We have a came-apart near by...but I dare not go there....last time I had to kick my way thru the store! it was a MeSsSsSsSsSssSS!

I usually try to avoid the place.  Lot's of scaaaary people in there, even in the daylight.  But when you need something cheap you gotta do what you gotta do.

thats what I hear...my moms car was stolen at a Walmart....she and my sister parked thier cars right next to each other...went in and shopped...they came out...put the stuff in my sisters car...and then both realized...HEY wheres your car....... POOR MOM...she was besides herself. Luckily they found it a few days later and it was not stripped....looks as though someone just needed a ride and fast! DURN THIEVES!

Yikes!  That has to be shocker.  Glad things turned out (reasonably) okay!

if so, I will share with you what I just made...some ghiradelli chocolate brownies...I do mine a little different...I take half the batter and place it in the glass brownie pan...(9 x 13) then I add 1 cup chopped pecans, 1 cup butterscotch chips, 1 cup coconut, and some extra chocolate chips....like you really need them! haha....then I add the rest of the batter to the top...dont worry if it doesnt cover it....cook it like brownies...and MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM I will share if you will! these are for after our run on Sunday...but I have a few to spare!

my Nestles Toll House seem awfully chinzy compared to those INCREDIBLE BROWNIES....

but if your sharing.....

yumm-O
stacieb

come-n-get-it! making lasagna to carbo load with....making a spinach lasagne and a ground turkey lasagne....might as well come and have dinner...then I will drizzle some chocolate on the plate...all perdy and all...and then I will take a nice warmed up brownie...place it on the chocolate drizzles...add some ice cream...a small dallup of whip cream and wella....my brownie a la mode! SHOOT I MAY NEED TO RUN A MARATHON!!!

Can I stop by for some brownie a la mode after my marathon tomorrow?  Sounds delicious!  But I better start off with some lasagne first

Hi Bob, nice challenging with you again.  Did you move?  I thought you were in upstate NY last summer.  Of course, I'm often scattered on that stuff.

Good luck training for the marathon.

Morning everyone.  Got my 6 in this morning.  Wasn't purty (side stitches for first 3 miles) but it's done and logged.  Off to the vet with the old cat for his check up.  I think he gets better medical care than I do.

skrtrnr - 2009-10-03 7:45 AM oh crap.

here i thought i could come in on our thread and be mostly caught up.

SILLY ME.

i have to run, literally

40 min tempo on the plan for me.  im heading to the Y, though....its sunny outside (still nip, but thats OK)

i wish i was talented, focused, disciplined, astute enough to do a tempo outside....but alas, i get 'lost' in the run, forget what im doing, fall WAY OFF pace and screw the whole tempo run up.

the TM thinks for me, keeps me in line, focused, disciplined and astute.

as for talented.

alas.  i dont think ill ever be.  even as hard as i train.

BUT....

im the most consistent persistent athlete i know.

so there you go.

im off w my silly runnin' self.

RUN HAPPY EVERYONE!

ps - ESPECIALLY YOU JULES....A THOUSAND KISSES *MWAH* FOR YOU EPIC JOURNEY.

Haha!  I think you need to schedule a good half hour in order to get caught up with this thread.

Have a great run today!

aspeelma - 2009-10-03 8:13 AM Good morning Ghoulies!!!

Big weekend ahead here. We've got house guests this weekend, my son has a soccer game at noon, I need to sneak a 3 mile run in today, and we're having a big fall party this evening with our friends and family complete with bonfire and hayride. Tomorrow is pretty much the same thing sans the soccer game and the party will be with members of my husbands church. Good times.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and good luck to any racers.

Sounds like a jam-packed fun filled weekend.  Enjoy!
