Hey Bill! I just got home from a morning run and swim session not long ago. I think I am going to peel myself off the couch and go shower now.

I got to experience the "trifecta of suck" as Tom so eloquently put it: cold, wind, and rain.  Luckily it didn't rain the whole run and when it did it was a light rain.  Still, glad that run is over.  Time to relax for a few hours before workout #2.

Guess what? It is snowing at my house. Yep. Snowing. I am not going to complain though becuase Northern Utah has been missed by most of the storms lately, and we need the water desperately. I think we're at about 60% of our normal totals for the season. Southern Utah is something like 125%, though.

I'm just glad I don't have to go with my daughter to sit at the Girl Scout Cookie booth outside the grocery sore right now (thanks to my hubby for being out of town! Occasionally that comes in handy. )

Hello everyone

I got an 1100 meter swim in today. Not my biggest swim ever but I used Neal's method.

I swam 2 50's to warm up, then I swam 1000 meters. I smacked my head into the wall twice.

Neal, you weren't alone out there.  I decided to do the 5k because I scored one of the technical T's and actually liked it and want to wear it.  Bad ju ju to wear shirts from races you don't run.  So for a stupid shirt I ran 2 miles to the start, ran the race, and ran home.  39*, raining sideways, and windgusts at 40+ according to the weatherman.  No workout #2 for me.  Going over to a friend's who is going to cook and ply me with wine.

Happy days!

Nope no flip turns today. I've been working on doing them but I get leg cramps a lot in the pool so I tried not to push off of the sides today.

Good evening Ghoulies. I had a nice bike ride this morning followed by about 5 hours of errand running. Time to go map my ride and log it, and then I'll be back to catch up on the day.

That made me laugh! Glad I could add a little color to your description of that delicious Midwest-in-March weather. That was a darn good run you had, especially considering the conditions.

Wow, those sound like brutal conditions. I don't know if I could even WATCH people running in crap like that. Way to HTFU for a sweet t-shirt Kim!

ironannekidd - 2010-03-12 7:41 AM Bill - I checked out the link you had put in the bEASTies thread about the IronCross race. That has to be what we saw last year. Good luck. Lots of hills! I will most definitely try to find you sometime that weekend. You'll have to let me know when you're coming to town.

That would put me at 3 Ghoulie meetings this summer!!!!

WOOHOO!!!

The sad news is my family isn't going to NC for vacation this year. Sorry Robin.

I am going to have to make a trip out west!

How far west????

I don't know yet.

I'm already thinking about next year, wondering if I want to do the RNR HM or maybe even the full marathon in Phoenix next year. If I do maybe I can extend my stay a bit and do some visiting. It's a long time between now and then, but I'd definitely like to find a way.

Once I have the job situation settled so I know what I have to work with I'll decide what I want to do.

Today was my first bike ride with the crew from the LBS. I've been wanting to go out with them for a while now, but life can be one conspiratorial SOB. I'm really glad I went though. There are some serious studs that come out and ride and everyone was really cool.

Several of them went on past the point where I turned around to a popular 7 mile road that has something like 2,000ft elevation gain. I won't be doing that hill tomorrow, but I WILL be doing it soon!

It was a very nice ride though. The hills are all nice and green, which is great because in three or four months they'll be B R O W N. I felt like I had a nice mix of warming up, hammering it for a while, riding steady for a bit, and then hammering some hills towards the end just for fun. It was my longest ride ever by quite a bit, and I'm looking forward to some longer ones.

P.S. I'm at 60 miles for the month now. 165 may be a bit ambitious but I'm gonna do my best to get there!

I still have 200 to get in this month big guy! All the rain this weekend isn't helping. It is supposed to be clear and warm all week though.

Then may your week be full of blissful miles spent in the saddle Ann! My next ride will be Monday and the next one scheduled after that is Saturday. Then again, I'm taking a few days off work while my wife rehabs from her surgery so I'll probably try to sneak in a few extra credit workouts while the short people are in school and she's resting.
