Hello again, team.  It's drizzly and pretty dreary here.  Great day for a lunchtime swim.  Feels great to get in two workouts today after blowing everything off for 3 days.  And to top it all off, Lost is on tonight.  Yippee!  Awfully quiet out there... anybody home???  What, do you people have jobs or families or something??!?

tri808 - 2010-04-13 12:02 AM Had another tough masters class.  I literally almost threw up a tuna sandwich in the first 10 minutes.
I can't eat within 2.5 hours of a really intense workout...especially seafood.

Back from lunch!  It was fun catching up with one friend who no longer works with me and another friend who is taking a new job elsewhere.  Plus, I just like to eat.  Wink  I will definitely need to let my tuna melt settle for a while though before thinking of running!

5 mile tempo run done!  Despite nice weather, I wasn't really felling it.  I cut back on the tempo pace a bit and got it down.

I'm planning on working on some two-beat kick drills this afternoon in the pool.

Really?  I have to eat something...usually about 60-90 minutes before is what works for me.  But when I left work for the Y, I realized I was hungry, so I stopped off at a mini mart to get a sandwich...so that was about 45 the class actually started.

After a rest day on Sunday and just swimming yesterday, I finally feel like I got my legs back.  Looking forward to my run at lunch.

Also looking forward to a ride after work.  It'll be the first time I take my bike out since getting properly fit.  Crossing my fingers for some magical power increase...but if it simply keeps me more comfortable...that's a bonus.

yogachic - 2010-04-13 6:31 AM Helllllooooooo A-Team!  It looks like a beautiful day today for a run, which is perfect because I'm planning on doing 1k intervals tonight.  I really like doing speedwork - hopefully it's working Tongue out

I hate actually doing the speedwork but I absolutely love going for a run and all of a sudden realizing that I really am getting faster! Anyway, my point is that i'm thinking the same will happen for you!

I was thinking the same thing...it is waaaaaay too quiet in here! I'm thinking everyone took the day off cuz it's when people are at work that they are the most talkative!

I'm the same way as you, Mel! I get a horrible cramp if I eat too soon before running or swimming but I can eat everything in sight and still have no issues on the bike!

Anyway, the video wasn't there so I went and ran. When I got home my hubby and kiddo were watching it ~ WITHOUT ME!So, to make a long story short, we made an offer! Now let's hope there isn't too much dickering...we put in a very reasonable offer because we really hate that part so we shall see!

I always have to eat before working out, but for me it's best if it's about 1-2 hrs before.  If I eat too early, I get really bad hunger pains during my workout, and light-headedness.  But if I eat too close to the workout, I'll want to puke (if it's a hard workout) or I get GI issues (if it's an easy/moderate workout).  For me, timing is everything!
