How is everyone's weekend going?

Had a good ride yesterday, except for a call to the wife to come get me as I had the wrong tube for the new bike.  It turns out that whatever I hit also ruined the tire anyways.  But I got it fixed and the ride done.

Long run today!

Keep enjoying your weekend!

I will try to get some pictures download in the next day or 2!

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't checked in sooner to tell you about my race - it's been a busy weekend! I'm still working on my race report, but I'll let you know when it's finished.

All in all a good race for my 2nd tri ever and 1st this year. I'm not one to settle though so I'm going to keep working my butt off.

Sprint tri (750m, 20k, 5k) Final time was 1:15:02 for 15th overall, 4th in age group. I had the 3rd best run split including the elite wave.

Have a great holiday!

Great weekend so far. I did a quick 2 hour ride on the TT bike Saturday, a metric century bike tour my coach organizes on Sunday followed by a hot hour run and did a PR on a 5 mile race with the running club today. 9:06 pace for 5.1 miles. Not blazing for you all, but great for me.  My second mile was 8:30.

Happy 4th everyone!!!! Finally feel like I am getting my butt back in gear (just in time for our move in a week!) Was able to get 2 nice bike rides in over the weekend.

I have a sprint tri scheduled for the 10th.  I have been dreading it, since I know I am not as prepared as the last one.  So.. I have decided to use it as a "b" race and practice for the oly I hope to do next month.

Inlaws and 2 yr old nephew at our house. it seems they are all having trouble with the altitude here - so pretty slow 4th.

FANTASTIC!!! Congrats on a great job! Can't wait for the race report.

Had a great training weekend here...I'm exhausted tonight at 8:20 I'm heading to bed soon and doubt any fireworks will keep me awake.

I got in an early morning run today - felt good! The company we have had for the last 1 1/2 weeks are gone! Time to start thinking about AK! Hoping to get most of my work related issues resolved today and tomorrow.

So in order to get to Anchorage we will have to drive up through BC (Banf, Jasper) and then over to the Yukon (whitehorse) before hitting Alaska.  My hubby and I are planning to take it slow and trade of riding our bikes on the more scenic sectoins while the other drives. If it works it will be amazing - can't wait!

That sounds like an interesting way to get some great riding in!! I imagine there are some very scenic sections of that trip!

I am hoping some day to do an extended bike tour I think that could be a lot of fun!

A little more than an hour on the bike this morning.  Not quite what was in the workout plan but the window between daylight and the time I needed to be home to get to a meeting was somewhat restricted.  As the evening workouts have been hit or miss lately I wanted to make sure I got my ride in as my running has been much more consistent.

I have been on the lookout for deer lately as they have been quite active and I figured me and a deer coming together would be ugly at best.  This morning I had a fox run out in front of me so I guess I can add that to the list!

Keeps me from daydreaming on the bike I guess!

Getting into the heart of the racing season!! I hope you all are training well!  Lets hear about it!

At times I feel I’m experienced and times I know I’m not experienced. The reality is this is only my 4th triathlon and only my 3rd season of doing tri’s – if you can count the first season as a season. Which is debatable.

This year I’m more fatigued than last year and I’m having doubts about my training and my goals. Each year my anxiety levels go up before a race and this time it’s happening again.

How do you keep it all in check? I realize this is a hobby but I want to beat last year’s time and I think some of my family will be at the race for a little added pressure to do well.

Does it get easier with more race experience?

I think it does get easier with race experience, but knowing that I've put in the work helps me to stay confident which then helps to stay relaxed. I try to tip-toe the line of hobby and wanting to do well. It's just not in my nature to go out and "have fun" - I wanna kick butt!

I don't do the upload, but I did hear/read that there were some issues recently with the training log.
