also, since i'm here talking to myself, i am going to the chick fil a bowl for new years (husband is a UVA alum and we have buttloads of frequent flyer miles so why not?)

i am going to be REALLY disappointed if there isn't lots of sweet tea and chick fil a sandwiches.  i also envision a sandwich-quarterback competition for the kiddos during halftime maybe.

UVA made it to a bowl?

LockOut - 2011-12-06 8:00 AM Hahaha, what's a "sandwich quarterback" competition?

I picture they select kids out of the crowd, or maybe from some boys and girls club, and have them throw chickfila sandwiches at a target, just like how a QB practices.  Winner gets a free banana pudding milkshake?

OK, that's what I was picturing, but I didn't know if it was an actual thing that I didn't know about, or what. That would be MESSY... tough to clean up the field.

(You're probably picturing wrapped sandwiches. I am not.)

Hi TAN!

Is it wrong that I'm more essited about going shopping for stuff to make our flat all Christmassy and festive as opposed to going out to dinner?

they have CHRISTMAS in LONDON??  Surprised

Shockingly, yes!

Or at least the British version of Christmas which means food with no flavour, everyone drinking some sort of blasphemous concoction of eggnog tea or eggnog beer and Union Jack decorations.

So I'm going to consider suing the University of Kentucky, the players who use it and the fan base as a whole for copyright infringement. They obviously stole this name from me:

feeling any better today? sucks how sick you've been

Yes. For the better part of 18 months now, I've been seriously ill. Ridinkulink.

Fever's down some but I actually feel worse today and haven't been able to keep anything down.

If it's the same or worse tomorrow, going to the clinic/hospital. If it gets much worse tonight, in fact, I'll go, since I haven't been able to keep any medication down either.

Morning, TAN. Showed up to work "late" today... and I think I'll leave early. Probably worth it.

So I met the little lady's dad and dad's best friend last night, impromptu. I got the pleasantries from the dad, and the "Don't you dare hurt her... she's not my daughter, but she might as well be" from the friend. All in all, though, it went well. I think that, so far, at least, I got a passing grade.

I'd say anything short of getting shot on sight is a success.

I get to do that later this month. But he's Canadian so my guess is he'll be all ``TONY! Want some back bacon and pancakes!?''

i can't believe it. well, sending you TONS of healing vibes. maybe my powers don't work so well anymore

how's the medical care where you are? just curious.

Multi-drug resistant typhoid is apparently also multi-healing-vibe resistant. But keep it coming, and thank you. We will win.

The medical care ranges from worse-than-not-being-treated to comparable to average developed-country care. The actual care and advice I'm getting is that, about average for a developed country.

The two unfortunates here are that, with so many serious illnesses in a short time and the current one being a very virulent typhoid, you'd want to be on the better end of developed-country care. The other is that the MEDICATIONS available here are rudimentary, to say the least.
