Veteran 291 Charlotte, NC | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed I went for the massage today. She said my back and hamstrings were so tight I was "locked up." Not very relaxing but theraputic. Apparently I over did it with the exercise between the triathlon, the 10K run, and increasing the intensity of my training (in just two weeks, nonetheless). I should've known better, I suppose I was feeling like a bad a$$, LOL. I guess it wasn’t a good combo. So she worked on my back and hamstrings for about an hour and I am feeling a little more flexible, sore but not aching. I am taking the rest of the week to recover and heading to the beach on Friday. Will regroup Mon. and get back in the pool, but I am going to take it easy next week. |

Or is it a whole group of "freed" women? Just me and my best friend. Sometimes we get a group to go, but it didn't work out this year. She is just finishing nursing school, so we were at the mercy of her schedule. It is good just being the two of us cause we hang really well together. We've been friends since the 8th grade. |

Nope, not even a little bit! Some of my favorite comments: - "I don't like when we go breathless and can only say 1-2 words at a time because that rules out 'I hate you'." Oh, and I teach at all times of the day. Only one class is at the crack of stupid. |

Expert 938 Orange County, California | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed Yesterday Boy Genius decided to add some overhead presses to his lifting routine. Right after lifting went to spin class Right after spin went swimming. Started off with 400 yards continous swimming= longest non stop swim in a year. (For confidence since 11 days from now is a tri with 400 yard swim and I wanted to know about how long it would take me.) got home last night, had a hard time lifting my right shoulder to take the shirt off. Not sure if was from lifting, swimming or both. Today I can still feel it but the pain is almost gone. Should be good to go tomorrow. Who wants to give me swim lessons? California is warm low humidity and I will buy the beer/ diet soda afterwards. |

Trade again in October, then I'd teach myself to swim 1:26 min/100 yds, then teach you...well here, open water swims are still about a month and a half away... |

Lake swimming, this month we have the ick. Invisible critters that get inside your wetsuit and cause red itchy rash. If you shower right away, you are usually safe, as it doesn't start to itch for a few hours. But if you miss a spot during the shower, it can be not fun. Also shower off the inside of your suit. Yes happens if you swim without wetsuit too. By May they are usually gone. Not sure what causes it. The lake has really great visibility, you can be in 20 feet of water and see the bottom, and you can see little finger sized fish swimming well beneath you. Other lakes get the ick as well. But some of those lakes have about 1 foot visibility. And the Ocean, mostly I cant even see my elbow. |

Expert 938 Orange County, California | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed Went swimming yesterday in the gym pool This morning the corners of my eyes itched. Nore like where the edge of the mask is. Would that be chlorine or my mask rubbing. A little lotion and I was fine. Probably the second time in my life I have used lotion. If this keeps up I will probably be riding Mila's pretty bike and wearing a pink tri suit, and Sal will take away my Man Card. |

Ahh...the dreaded swimmer's itch...yeah, we had a warning at one of the tri's here last year...the Stay away from the water at the shoreline where the waterfowl play...not an issue anywhere else in the lake... I (breaking arm patting myself on the back) did a 2100 yard nonstop swim this morning! This was after 45 minutes of a fairly tough SPIN class! I'm pretty stoked!

Expert 938 Orange County, California | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed Good job UT. Next time you are in OC I will take you up on that. As long as I can get in ahead of the cut off times for Oly or maybe a 70.3 I would be happy. Why is it that half the women I know who sign up for sprints won't practice any swimming because it will mess up their hair, especially if they color their hair. Only swimming is on race day. |

Ditto that. I was actually blond at one point in my life. Before I started coloring my hair. I figure green is a nice color, too. I wore that one a fair amount as a kid, too. |
