Bill, I'm so sorry for your loss.  It's hard even when it ends suffering.

Sorry I've been MIA for a few weeks.  Life got crazy and I wasn't dealing well with being in the house without my family.  They are all settled into the new place and I'm looking forward to joining them at the end of the month.  I stopped training for a couple of weeks but I'm back at it again.

Hey guys,

Sorry for my long absence, been real busy at work and training.  Things have pretty good with training and no reall issues.  I ran my first race in two years last weekend, Tri Del Sole in Michigan.  The race report is below.  Overall results, 5 minutes faster than the last time I ran it (2007).  The wetsuit is AWESOME.  I have another race scheduled in August and then an Olympic distance (my first and longest tri to date) in September.

Take care.

Awesome races everyone!
The summer is killin me right now - temps in the 100s (not normal for here at all) has made training completely unbearable (except for swimming which is the only relief). It's supposed to cool down a bit this weekend. Have my third race on Saturday - same basic course as my last one - hopefully can pick up a couple minutes, but will depend on heat. Happy training all, keep sharing those race reports!

I've been promising to put up some pics for a while now... here goes.  These are from the race a couple of weeks ago.
Minor note:  In the bike picture that approx 15 year old kid is actually overtaking me on my right, not the other way around Embarassed.
Heh.

haha it's actually not that long - maybe a quarter mile if that.  The hill starts pretty much where that first truck/car that you can see is.  The rest is more or less flat, but that little hill is still a soulcrusher.

It's so nice there - the water is crystal clear as you can sort of see.  It's really well organized and run but there aren't a billion people doing the race so it's not too crowded.

If you get a chance to come up our way I can't recommend this race enough.  Not that I've done a ton of races but it's hard to manage one being much better.

I definitely want to check out some races up that way next year. I let my drivers license expire several years ago and now need to go through the whole drivers test she-bang again - hoping to get that done in next month or two and once I do I'll be heading to more out of town races. Will check it out - yah, that water looks sublime!

An offer to those of you with younger children.

I am moving again and it has caused me to realize how much stuff I have. Many of the boxes that I am hauling around are full of children's books and games of the quality educational sort.  In my current situation I don't have need of them.

Would you be interested in receiving a few books and games for your kids?  Just let me know what their ages, interests and reading levels are and give me an address to send them to.I also have some great ravensburger jigsaw puzzles ranging from 35 pieces to 3000...but only the 300 or less are up for grabs.

I can check to see if you have things before I send them. It would be good if I had less things that I am storing and hauling from place to place.  They need to be used.

And if you have 4-8th grade kids...I have about 800 books in that reading level.  I have just about all the Newbury winner and honor books.

Hey guys,

Hope you weekend is going well.  I am going to try to get in a 2 hr bike ride this afternoon but it is very hot (90 degrees), very humid, and windy.  My route is actually two loops, so if it hits me hard, I can always stop early (but I don't plan on it).

Just wanted to throught this out to everyone.  I have a pair of De Soto Tri shorts that were given to me about 5 years ago (pay it forward from a friend).  Not sure how many times they were worn before, but I wore them once and realized they were too small.  The shorts are in great shape, only sligh wear on the stitching of the legs.  The are royal blue and are a size M, which, according to De Soto's webpage, they should for a 27 - 32 inch waist.  The inseam of the short are 5 inches and the leg opening are 9 inches (laying flat).  I would attach a picture, but I can't seem to figure it out.

PM me if you are interested and I can send you a picture via e-mail.  I will ship them to your address (shipping should be cheap and I will pay, my wife will be happy to get them out of the house).  If nobody in our group is interested, I will post them on the pay it forward thread of BT.

Take Care,
