bcart1991 - 2008-07-17 8:48 PM Now I know how all the ladies felt during all the car talk this morning.

What would you like to talk about? I can offer you operating systems and smelly kitchens. Then there's the 'would I be crazy to throw out half the junk in my apartment since I never use most of it anyway' topic.

How about "What should I do with all the ex's stuff since she won't come get it?"

How about craiglist, garage sale, ebay, or charity?

bcart1991 - 2008-07-17 10:07 PM Found out (I had an idea, but just got proof in May) that she was cheating on me for 4 out of the 5 years we were married. Yes, you read that right. Many a jaw has dropped when I tell the story.

Oh jebus...dude, I'm sorry. Well, I'm no expert b/c I've never been married, but definitely don't rush into anything if you're not ready. Not fair to the other chick involved - just tryin' to look out for the other ladies in the world I've definitely dated guys who weren't ready to jump back in the game (not necessarily from divorce, but relationships gone bad), and that's no fun. And ultimately that's not fair to yourself either. Meh...not an expert. Just $0.02.

Oh, and just be glad you don't live in Maryland. My poor friend who is my age and is now a single mom to a 2 year old has had to wait TWO YEARS for her divorce to be final.

Yeah, it always seems that the tenor section is the smallest. That's probably not true in big professional choirs like the Mormon and Harlem Tabernacle Choirs, but most other choirs, it always seems like tenor sections are the smallest.

I sang tenor in our Episcopal church for a while. For some reason the tenor section was huge. Then my wife had our middle kid and I quit going to choir then we quit going to church (especially after the third one). We keep thinking we should go back, but there's always things to do.

Interesting.  And welcome to TAN.  Sometimes it gets a little quiet here at night, but we've got a good crew going today.

Oh I'm not jumping into anything just yet.

More looking to hang out and have fun, without the air of impropriety, though that's not something I really worry about.

Not sure when (if?) I'll be ready to tie the knot again.

Another question: Who should be on the list to receive copies of all the scandalous emails? Her parents for sure. Anyone else? Other family members? Co-workers?

Most of her friends (by default my friends too) are slowly learning the real deal of what went on from me, instead of the non-story she's told everyone thus far.

The actual process has been painless.

I'm keeping everything, and it has cost me $83 out of pocket to file the papers.

Well that, and the 7 wasted years.

Ooh...don't be too vindictive. She was sh*tty to you, but be a bigger man and don't be sh*tty to her. It's okay to tell folks, I guess, but don't be nasty about it. Again, never been divorced and never had anyone cheat on me that I know of, just going by instinct.

Then just think about it (but don't dwell) and pick one REALLY close friend to dish the details to, someone you trust who won't go slandering her, etc. I mean, you always have to have the one good confidante who knows everything. Chicks do this, anyway. Dudes probably do too, I'm guessing.

Sending them to random people could be just as much fun.  Just type in gmail.com address at random or something.

Details have been dished, the story just hasn't broken locally.

Friends from college, high school ("family" type friends, not random acquaintances), and others already know the dirt, it's the people here who don't know yet. And that will affect her SO MUCH MORE than it will affect me.

From what I hear, her mom is in complete denial that its' rally even happening. She's the uber-WASP southern lady, so that was partly to be expected.

I have to sit back and laugh sometimes. Some of it is truly comical.

Thanks. I need to leave and do my approximation of running. I'm planning on doing my first tri in 2 1/2 weeks and am completely not ready.

Later, taters.

Have a good one, and just remember not many people felt 100% ready for their first race. You'll do fine.

Well I thought I was pretty much ready, then I did my off road sprint ... yeah.  Now I am finally starting to feel really ready and I'm on my fourth one.  Try not to stress out and over think it too much.  Enjoy your running approximation.

I've heard she refuses to even speak about it. Doesn't deny it, just clams up and refuses to talk.

That's bad. Wait till she sees those emails. Oof.

Sad thing is, her brother and I are really good friends. Hopefully that won't change too much, but I can't imagine it not changing. Good thing is he lives in Houston, not here.

I can NOT type lately...

my best friend is my ex's stepsister-

we have stayed friends

she was one of the people who told me to leave him.  After the separation her husband called me to tell me that they were keeping me in the divorce.

And now I have gotten him in to triathlons....not sure if I will ever get Deb into them but she can come cheer us on....
