Okay, I am back... Kinda. On my third antibiotic for the sinus infection that I have been fighting since early february. I think that is part of my exhaustion I was fighting for so long. Then on top of it, my schedule has been so hair with substitute work at my daughter's pre-school, I haven't been able to train like I want to. Every time I plan a training, I have to cancel because I get a call to fill in.

Now, the dr. wants to drain my sinuses and send me for a CT. GOOD GOD!!! On top of that. My swimmer for my half-iron relay this weekend has MS and has been having a flare-up and her family had an intervention last night and told her she can't swim (her arms and hands aren't working well.) So, no swimmer for a 1 mile swim. With 5 days to the tri, it's a little short to find a replacement who is ready for a 1 mile swim. I am supposed to do the 56 mile bike and have been on the road exactly twice. Both were pitiful results. Better on the trainer with the issues I have been having. Man this season is starting out horribly. Oh well, I guess I will get the most expensive t-shirt I have ever paid for.

Hmmmm, you retire because you are tired.  Then you retire to get re-tired?  Not sure how that works.

Day one and I am already hopelessly bored.  Pulled weeds today, exciting stuff.  Getting training done in the morning is nice.  Maybe I should just train more?

We are going to start doing some of our swimming during the week.  If the weather is bad we will swim at the health club during the week.  Long workouts on the weekend make swimming tough to get in.

Can we all help Lori out and start sending her our job lists? Maybe she could do a tour of all of us and bring us all up to date...?

It'll be like painting the Forth Bridge - finished just in time to re-start - that'll sort you out!!Wink

Hello all,

I think I may finally be on the road to recovery. After almost passing out on the bike about 2 weeks ago, I scheduled an appt. with my ENT and the result is. I have a seriously allergic nose and residual infection... This is 4 days after coming off my third antibiotic.

I am now on my 4th antibiotic and now steroids. They seem to be working quickly, but we will see. I am anticipating a ride tomorrow and hopefully it will go better. The pain in my sinuses has been annoying to say the least. On top of that, my local hockey team is still in the Stanley Cup playoffs, which cuts into the schedule when I am at games for hours. Oh well.

My next tri is scheduled for June 25, so I have to ramp up my training fairly quickly. I am looking for a finish. that's it at this point. Considering I DNS my half-iron because I couldn't breathe.

Hopefully, this is the end of the road for the sinus issue, aside from the deviated septum. Maybe fix that in the off-season.

Hot damn, I may be back on the prowl.

I felt AWESOME after my ride tonight and was actually able to breathe. NICE!!!

That's a bonus. I am hoping to double up tomorrow. I have 5 weeks to my next tri. I just want to get to a decent point to finish. Haven't trained the swim yet at all. Uh OH.

How about a good swift kick in the arse and can I borrow your base??

My next tri is June 25 and need to get in the water. I'm a little behind on that part.

Another ride tonight. It is so damn nice to finally be able to breathe again.

Still not a great ride, but it sure was nice to be in the saddle again.

Heading out for a ride, I may be a bad girl and throw the ear buds on, although not in the ears. Just need the music. I tend to loop them through the helmet straps so I can still hear the music, but not affect hearing the vehicles around me.

It has taken me this long to get back in the saddle.

Finally getting in the groove again. Now just need to get my run going.

My triathlon in about 10 days is going to suck. No swimming or running.

16 miles on the bike last night, today was a .6 mile jog/walk.

I really hate running, but if I can get my base built back up, I will be in good shape.
