Not much going on in Nibb land this afternoon/evening.

I finished the first half of the testimony-everything was taken care of before the managers arrived to perform the move out inspection.  Now I get to try to recall all the conversing that took place when they where there.  Because I was present, there is quite a bit of conversation to recall.  Undecided

As hard as it may be to believe, I become much less chatty as the day progresses. I am very capable of talking nonstop after I take my morning medications.  I bet that I could hold 3 different conversations at the same time.

I need to duck back out and finish up the fun legal stuff for Dave's lawsuit dealie tomorrow.

Hmm, maybe I should incorporate the words dealie or thingamajig into my statement.

Oh how I want need a nap! Alas, life does not permit.

I just put all the legalese stuff at the beginning and end of the document, but I still have to write the second portion.  I want to cry, I am sooooo tired.  I need to sound professional, which I am capable of, but it is a challenge when I have been short on sleep.

I'm having a hard day at work too. I'm editing a manual for publication, so it has to be perfect, but I am falling asleep. Am sucking on a big warm cup of coffee. Hopefully it will help.

Do you drink coffee or tea?

State of

County of ________________

BEFORE ME, the undersigned Notary, notary, on this date, personally appeared myself, known to me to be a credible person and of lawful age, who being by me first duly sworn, on her oath, deposes and says:

I, Myself, was present on the morning of August 30, 2008 for the move-out inspection of blank apartment unit #X that was leased to XX.  I arrived shortly after 7am and assisted so and so in the final cleaning of the apartment in preparation for the inspection.  When I arrived X had the bathroom mostly clean, I finished it up by wiping down the fixtures and washing the mirror.  The bedroom had already been completely cleared out as well. I completed several tasks as follows:

o      Boxed the remaining belongings in the living area

o      Vacuumed the bedroom (I used an edge tool for along the baseboards)

o      Used the carpet cleaner X had rented to clean the bedroom.  I washed it all once, treated a couple of spots and then washed the carpet a second time.

o      Went through the unit and washed all the doors, door frames, and light switch panels including the walls around them to rid them of the grime that tends to accumulate over time.

o      Used a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to remove a few scuff marks that were on the walls.

o      Vacuumed the area living area, making sure to get along all the baseboards and behind the curtains.

o      Used the carpet cleaner in the living area, spot treating in a few areas.  The carpet appeared to be rather old and well used.  There were a few spots that didn’t come out entirely, but they looked like they had been there for quite some time and had probably persisted through several carpet cleanings.

I then moved on to the kitchen.  While I was doing other tasks, X had emptied and washed the refrigerator and freezer, wiping down all the surfaces on both the inside and outside.  I assisted X in boxing the last of the dishes and food.  I then proceeded to do the following:

o      Wiped down the interior and exterior of all the cupboards

o      Cleaned the entire exterior of the stove

o      Removed and cleaned the stove knobs and areas under them.

o      Scoured the drip pans for the stove and cleaned the stray crumbs and dust that had found their way into the area below

o      Wiped down the interior of the oven

o      Wiped down the stove hood

o      Wiped down the counters

o      Scrubbed the sink and the sealant surrounding it.

o      Cleaned and shined the faucet.

o      Wiped down the kitchen walls.

As I finished cleaning the kitchen, other friend arrived and assisted X in removing the last of his belongings, loading them into my car.  I then vacuumed and cleaned the hallway carpeting, treating a few spots in the process.  The trash was taken out and at this point everything short of a few cleaning supplies had been removed from the unit.

X went to the apartment managers’ unit and requested that they perform the move out inspection.  The apartment managers, C and P, arrived shortly after 12pm.

I figure that if my testimony is so detailed they will realize that my cleaning was just as detailed (probably moreso).

I might have issues with OCD... it could be possible.

kns57 - 2009-01-08 1:47 PM My cat Cassie is helping me work by sitting on my shoulders. Just call me the hunchback librarian. LOL

I visited the local library yesterday! Picked up a George Washington biography. Think I'm going to try to read, in elected order, a biography on every Prez. So that's 43-Cleveland+soon to be Obama=43 biographies. I'm either going to get really into it and finish much quicker than I expect, or I'll make it to Jefferson and give up. At least there aren't any new Harry Potters coming out to distract me.

What, you aren't ready "Twilight" like half of the world?

Ugh...don't even get me started.  I told my mom I want that time back.

X went to the apartment managers’ unit and requested that they perform the move out inspection.  The apartment managers, C and P, arrived shortly after 12pm.  After greetings and introductions were made, the managers began the walk through.  They made comments on the cleanliness of this unit compared to the others they had inspected over the last week and were very impressed that X had the initiative to clean the carpet himself.  Though the carpet was older and worn (much like Lame-o Apartments in it’s entirety) they observed that it was cleaned well and that having the carpet already cleaned would really speed the turnover process for the unit.  I was given the impression that a large percentage of the leases were being discontinued and that the units were not in good condition.

The managers looked over the bathroom.  It too was older, but clean.  They asked about a few damages (marks on the wall, a crack in the medicine cabinet), but after looking over the original move-in documents, agreed that the damages were present prior to his lease.

The inspection of the bedroom and living room went the same.  There were questions about a spot on the carpet or a mark on the wall, but all were accounted for on the original papers.
