kcarroll - 2010-10-10 3:48 PM Hi Ghouligans! What a beautiful day. I volunteered at a local race that is a fundraiser for the Visiting Nurse Association. I was a course marshall, so after the last walker came through I walked the last 2 miles back with them. Nice. One was an injured former marathoner, the other was a 70 something woman who won her age group. Had a nice time chatting with both of them. My legs are still a bit tired, so the afternoon was spent in the magic pants.

Sounds fun.  Glad that the weather was so nice for you!

Went for a bike ride with DH today.  It was short but still a pretty good workout.  He has not been on a bike for about 9 months and doesn't workout regularly.  However, he had quite good speed for an old cruiser bike and not working out.  I stayed in the big ring so got a pretty good workout.  He was quite encouraged.  He did much better than his last ride.  Of course he has lost about 40 #s since then so that helps!  I am so proud of him for losing the weight.  He enjoyed the ride today and felt good about how he did, so perhaps he will ride more now.  I sure hope so.

Okay Gouhlies. I could be wrong, but I think we are falling behind in the post count challenge. Not okay.

A 3 mile run + obstacles + chest deep cold water + 64oz of beer = one tired nekkid

I believe it is Nekkid - fun time I imagine though?

It was a blast. I was glad my friend did it with me. The one obstacle would have taken me all day to do on my own. We had to climb over old army trucks. There were ropes but I have no upper body strength. He went up first then grabbed my arm and helped me over. There was about a 4' drop off the other side. He must have seen my wince after the first one, because he helped me down off the next 3 then.

We finished somewhere between 40 and 45 minutes, I'm waiting for the results to be posted. Some of what slowed us down was waiting for people to get out of the way at the obstacles.

I highly recommend doing a Warrior Dash to all of you.

Bill, the trip was ok. It was perfect weather in Fla but also here. I missed a lot of yard playing and MTB riding while I was gone.
