Before 44 strokes per 50 yards. After 31 strokes. I suck less than I used too. Cash, that's awesome! My comfort/low fatigue zone is right about 37 strokes/50. When I'm down at 31, I start to sink a little... Comin at you from Chicago...end of a big project this week...will pop in and out of BT when I can... |

Are you sure they arent using those pool floaty things like water wings? wink It's funny, I was watching a guy swim the other day...his body was at a 45 degree angle to the surface of the water (feet at the lower end)...reminded me of how I used to swim... Not until TI (self-taught) did my body start straightening out more in line with the surface of the water...those fish, switch drills and 'shark fin' drills can be frustrating and embarrassing, but stick with 'em......brought my PR time per 100 from 4:08 min down to 1:39 min... Master 3479 Utah | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed Anyone know where I can find a quick release skewer and an adapter for smaller wheels for my new-used indoor trainer? I got a good deal on it, but it didn't come with the skewer or the "z" shaped attachment to raise up the flywheel unit for smaller wheels. |

SWEET RIDE -- I just love Bike Porn -- 350 for that bad boy -- nice job -- did you buy it on BT?
It was a close out from Javelin, there was a post on one of the forums about it. A lot of people bought them. |

Veteran 291 Charlotte, NC | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed Cashmason - 2008-04-19 12:17 AM Good job UT. Next time you are in OC I will take you up on that. As long as I can get in ahead of the cut off times for Oly or maybe a 70.3 I would be happy. Why is it that half the women I know who sign up for sprints won't practice any swimming because it will mess up their hair, especially if they color their hair. Only swimming is on race day. because we pay big money to be beautiful. I have found that as long as I wet my hair before I put on my cap, I am good to go. |

I hope your race is early enough to avoid the highs. Stay safe and well hydrated. With regard to your cold... be careful with cold meds as they could further dehydrate you. Good luck! |

Expert 938 Orange County, California | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed Happy Dance! 1st in Age Group. End of race report. currently 95 degrees. ( But not as humid as Hawtlanta). Oh and my g/f beat my best friend by 5 minutes. Typical guy he came up with excuses and said he hurt his knee. He then proceeded to limp for 3 steps then back to normal walking. |

Expert 938 Orange County, California | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed Thanks. The stuff I learned in this thread helped. Thoughts that went through my mind today. This is a sprint, don't hold something back for the next event. Hammer all the way. ( Interval training helped me recover quickly, got out the run. By the time I was done in T1 and at the mount line I was ready to hammer again. T1 was 1 minute 3 seconds. On the bike, this isn't a beach cruise, this is a race. So race it. You are supposed to be tired at the end. ( You would be surprised at the number of people who finish a hard hill and then go into coast mode and don't pedal.) Pedal hard on the downhills and you will pass a ton of people who are just coasting. A Heart rate monitor during a race can tell you its ok to go faster. You are at 163 and your LT is 168 - 170. You can pick up the pace and not blow up. I thought my LT was 168, but my hr the last twenty minutes of the run was 175. Maybe the low heart rate training Mila and Sal preach raised my Lactate Threshold. |

Expert 938 Orange County, California | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed The shark attack was all over the local tri boards here. There are 4 fatal shark attacks a year. And I think this is the first fatal one in 71 years locally. Tragic yes. And some people are freaking out. Its like earthquakes here or tornadoes where you are. It happens. And what happens in othter states is scarier than what you have gone through before. Me, I am afraid of those Minnesota lake sharks. |

Expert 938 Orange County, California | Subject: RE: Milaminute and Sparco's Group - Closed My friend Mike is doing a mini sprint this week end just so he can get first in age group. Last year only one guy in age group, and he moved up to new ag this year. No one in lower group would join Mikes group. 200 yard swim 6 mile bike 1.5 mile run. But since he is almost always bottom 10 percent, and he doesnt ever train, this is his one chance to tell friends and relatives he won a tri. He won't mention he was the only person in the age group. |
