And back to me....Tex? Your hair is shorter, no? It's very cute. Do you like it? I'm thinking of cutting mine off...not sure yet.

Yes. It's shorter. It's actually grown quite a bit since last summer. I cut a lot of it off during Ironman. Growing it back out again. Do it. It was refreshing.

still long enough to get in a pony tail, IDonna. But Tex, you're growing it out again....see? this is why I hesitate.

I did cut my hair once to chin length....my sister is a stylist...she tricked me into doing it!
It was ok but I REALLY MISSED my long hair.......ever since then I CANNOT get my hair to grow longer than shoulder length.....sucks! I used to have hair down to my lower back!!
Do you take a lot of calcium?

not really........is that what i'm missing??

Same problem here....now I take a prenatal everyday....NO NOT PG.......but reaping a lot of benifits from them.  Including long full head of hair

It's quite helpful. I've been told that we need quite a bit more calcium when training often. I know I wasn't taking enough in to begin with, so...

During IM, I took a multi with a lot of C in it. In addition, I took vit E, Fish Oil, Cal/Mag and Vit B. Probably don't need all of those at this point but I still take them. It helps. Another thing I would try is a liquid multi. I've heard it's easier to absorb than the horse pills. who knows. It could all be a bunch of hoo-ey but I swear it works well for me. Kept me healthy and my hair and nails looked great.

My old PCP said it's not a bad idea for women. She gives them to her teenage daughter. I do know that most women don't get enough calcium, according to more than one Registered Dietician that I've talked to. Vitamin E is good for your hair and nails, I know. I think fish oil is too.

You might also just have hair that doesn't grow fast or becomes too fragile once it gets past a certain point. Mine grows like a freakin' weed. It always has. But it'd start to look like crap if I let it get too long - it's too thick and naturally curly hair tends to not do so well when it's long.

It is a lot of pills. AGain, not sure I need that much at this point but when I was actually training my body was in need. It's hard to get all of that stuff in through your diet. Supplementing helps. Just be careful. There are certain vitamins/minerals you can have too much of. For instance, be very careful with iron. I would let a doc or nutritionist regulate something like that. I believe the others that I mentioned are all water-soluable. Therefore, you can just pee out what you don't use or need. FYI - I'm not a nutritionist. I just remember studying a little bit of this stuff back in school. I could be mistaken on what I remember.

I usually go to Whole Foods. Their 360 brand liquid multi is great. Tastes like Flinstones vitamins. I also recommend their chewy vitamins for the B complex. I can't remember the brand at this moment. It's a clear plastic jar with a white top. Ooh and Coromega (chocolate/orange) for your omega fatty acids are great.

I hope all of this helps. Sorry, this isn't TAN material folks. Aidonna - PM if you have any other questions. I'm happy to help.

I would start taking some calcium/magnesium supplements. Might help.

separate from a mulitvitamin??
During IM, I took a multi with a lot of C in it. In addition, I took vit E, Fish Oil, Cal/Mag and Vit B. Probably don't need all of those at this point but I still take them. It helps. Another thing I would try is a liquid multi. I've heard it's easier to absorb than the horse pills. who knows. It could all be a bunch of hoo-ey but I swear it works well for me. Kept me healthy and my hair and nails looked great.

so you take them all separate....that's alot of pills........GNC?? where do you go??

Awesome!! Thanks!!

anytime!! A lot of those are not pill form, so that helps. Be sure to take these on a full belly. Otherwise, you'll be barfing!
