Has anyone heard from D or Katy? Katy often gets real busy but Dee has been MIA for a bit. I got a PM from Katie, and she dropped in a week or so ago to say she was in for the HM in January. Haven't seen Dee in awhile. We mentioned that last week. I hope everything is ok. Tom is in meetings today. I think Stacie worked over the weekend. Not sure if she had to work today or not. NJKim needs to get herself back here, too! Dee has been making posts in the other challenge thread so I think she is doing okay. Hope she didn't forget about us ghoulies |

I have a cold that is trying to get into my chest. I woke up during the night 2 nights ago with a productive cough. I'm ok for the most part during the day. Scratchy throat, minor asthma flare. The problem is that I've been so fatigued anyway for so long due to the vit D deficiency that I can't tell if I want to go back to bed because of that, or because my body needs me to because of the cold. plus, I'd like to sleep tonight. Anywho, it's really nice outside right now. And I already had 2 rest days in a row. But if I get really sick then I will set myself back, and I can't afford that right now with my tri less than 4 weeks away, and being undertrained as it is. I think I'm going to go veg on the couch and watch TV and eat my sandwhich. You aren't going to lose any fitness by taking a few days off. You may even come back stronger, because you have rested. Take care, get comfy on the couch, watch a good movie, take care. I'll add that by not resting you risk lengthening your recovery by stressing your immune system, in the end leaving you with less time to get quality workouts in. I vote for some quality rest! I was a good kid and stayed down. I even took a "fever" inducing hot bath, to try to help out my immune system. Then I had to go get kids from school and run them around all evening. My son had his first reconciliation tonight! Yay for him! So, I just got home from all of the running around. And I want you all to know I was, again, a good kid and stayed inside (to say hello to all of you) while my hubby is out doing yard work. It was soooo hard, too. |

Elite 4201 washington state | Subject: RE: The Ghoulies are STILL doing Ironman distances this month!!! Hi everyone. Thanks for the concern, sorry I have been so absent. I have barely been doing minimum workouts, and haven't spent a lot of time on BT except for quick updates on the challenge team and my pitiful log. I have kept up on most of the Ghoulie activity because it goes to my email (it has its own folder ). I just haven't taken the time to go to the site to reply. Sorry. I have been super busy this month (yeah for the budget!) but also super unmotivated in most areas of life, just kinda down. Don't know what is the matter with me. Bah!! One thing I know, is that I am READY for some SUNSHINE. Anyway, sorry this is such a whine. That is one reason I haven't posted. But I do enjoy reading the Ghoulie posts! Thanks! |

Yesterday I got to the gym to do my brick to find that I didn't have any shoes with me. Aarrrgh! So I did the grocery shopping and got a short run in when I got home. So this morning I'm off to Rotary and plan on doing my brick between Rotary and Work. The shoes are already on my feet so I can't forget them this time. LOL |

Dee, hope your spirits pick up soon. I know that Washington State is beautiful, but I don't know how people along the coast manage with the amount of rain that they get. I love the San Fran bay area in CA for a while, but I was glad to leave the winter gray weather behind when I left there. Hope some sunshine shows up soon for you. |

Will there be a May Ghoulies Iron distance challenge? We are not like your traditional challenge threads. We got put together on a team back in October. Not only did we kick azz that month, we just kind of clicked, and we've stayed together since. We come up with our own challenges every month, and many members also join the other challenge groups as well, they're a little more competitive. In May we are doing a stretching kind of challenge. I think we are going by how many stretching/yogaish sessions you get in. Plus there is a measurement. Measure how far you can reach while seated on the floor at the beginning of the month, then again at the end of the month, to check your progress. Am I right here folks? |
