Hi Everybody! Good to catch up on excellent posts:

Fred, excellent points on nutrition.... I got a kick out of the fried chicken... I eat so bad at the hospital, more than once  I got my dinner out of the vending machine at like 1 am (doritos, etc).. yeah the stomach feels real special the next morning . So eating well is a real challenge for me.  My weight kind of will be what it will be, but excellent suggestions to make little changes.

Kathy the amazing weight loss you have achieved is just great (I remember reading it way back in your bio and thinking it was a super story)...I just love these transformation stories.  Smile

Todd thanks for beautiful photos! Good luck on HIM

I like these two stacked together in training.

I often make a brick out of them with a swim then run.

Good stuff have fun!

Actually I do the opposite, i run first, then swim.
The only reason is because it fits my schedule best. I drive to the pool, park the car, and then go running, then when I am done swimming im showered and ready to move on.

I like training at that level.  Pain is my friend there.

I do think I training to much in the upper levels of intensity.  Discipline in training at low levels of intensity is one of my weakness.

Vegas!  Race or visit?

Oh, I have done that a few time.  I think run/swim is bit harder training for me.  Which is good and a good way to mix it up for me.

I think you making your training fit your schedule is smart and a great thing.

I think that making training fit our lifestyle keeps us at it among other things.  But, every now and then I throw something in that’s outside of the box.  That really makes it interesting.  Careful if you’re on a tight plan.

Kind of quiet here today.  Was hoping to get a swim in at lunch but work got in the way. Will do an easier than planned bike workout on the rollers tonight.  Hard bike on Sunday seems to be lingering in my legs.

Trip to Vegas in for my husband to attend a conference. We were able to get non stop free ticket for me to tag along. I'll ride one day while he works...then on his free day we found mountain bike place at the location to ride so no transportation issues with getting bikes out there.

VO2 max intervals went well...last one was mentally challenging but only 2.5 minutes they weren't so bad.

Thanks Kathy-lets try to keep expectations low..........not sure that means I will be any faster at anything over a 100 yards though.  Now to find a sprint with less than a 100 yard swim.......guess that would be a duathlon

Hey everyone - just grabbing a few seconds to say thanks to everybody for the inspires and PMs! It is really, really helpful and MUCH appreciated. I will definitely have some making up to do in a week or so.

I did managed to get about an hour run in on Sunday, but nothing else in six days.
It feels as though I have gained 37 pounds.

For the most part all the brain work is done on this project, and nothing but production and physical labor left. Our accrediting team shows up on Friday, then two days of schlepping them around to our remote programs. Then they are on campus for four days, then done. I am hoping to get back on the horse by Monday however before they get out of here - we will see, depends on how the visit is going, I guess.

Anyway - glad to read that you are all doing well, and that the weather seems to be clearing a bit for the northerly folk. Continue to keep it safe and injury free!

Sorry, I gotta brag a little bit - just finished my 20 min Power test and averaged 304 Watts.  I NEVER expected it to be that high .  I think I'm getting a little better at the testing too - I held constant over about the first 11 min, but then realized I was holding an arbitrary wattage (about 108%, i really have to turn off the display on my garmin so I can't watch wattage).  I did this last test without realizing it too, and I think I really under preformed, so I decided to just go for broke and had a consistent speed up over the last 9 minutes.

The proof
