ironannekidd - 2012-01-19 8:10 AM How are you feeling today, Robin?

Actually, today I feel close to being back to "normal". Except I drank wine last night with no dinner at our board meeting and, well, my head is a tad  large today. Some ibuprofen and more coffee will be the cure.

I could have helped you finish the wine. I could have used it last night, I was grumpy.

I would have shared! I was grumpy before the wine, too. I almost didn't go to the meeting cause I was grousing all around the house. Had to suck it up and then... well... the rest is history. At least I wasn't the only one and there was no dancing on tables!

I didn't sleep well Tuesday night, then I was up at 4:00 yesterday morning. When I finally got home at 6:40 last night I was tired and grumpy. My daughter was full of herself, and my son has been scared of everything lately. I did do some yoga to try and relax, but it didn't really help. At 7:30 I told my kids if they hadn't bathed by 8:00 I was turning off the TV and tossing them in the showers. They both sat there. At 8:00 I turned off the TV and started running bath water for my daughter. I told my son to jump in the shower back in my bathroom. He came down the hallway crying that he couldn't be back there by himself, there was a spider in the corner of the bathroom looking at him. I sent him to bed and told him he had to shower first thing in the morning and wasn't allowed to touch an electronic device all morning. He normally goes to bed at 9:00. This was post yoga, too. My husband got home around 8:20 and I told him I was going to bed, he could help Keri get ready for bed.

I know Caleb watches youtube videos, and I don't know if it is something he watched but he has been afraid of everything the past couple of days. When we got home from class he wanted me to search the house before I let the dogs out. THE DOGS WERE IN THE HOUSE! NO ONE WOULD HAVE SAFELY BEEN ABLE TO HIDE! Then he got upset because I was going downstairs to start the woodstove, he didn't want me to leave him upstairs alone. Please tell me this is just a phase.

Not having raised any kids, I have not clue if this is a phase.  But it sure sounds like a strong fear.  You might be right about a youtube video.  Will he talk about why he is so scared?

poor Caleb  and poor Ann!  Tough days

I have been working in the Hell I'm in now for 3 years and 2 weeks. I have been trying to get out of here for 3 years. Yeah. I have easily sent over a hundred resumes. I've had 10 interviews. I'm 0/10 in those interviews. I was offered a job with a company where I'd be in charge of security for a manufacturing company. I also haven't worked in the public sector in 8 years. I'd have to drive almost an hour and a half 3 days a week, but could work from home, or a closer office 2 days a week. I turned it down.

I really do want to get out of here, but I can't drive an hour and a half 3 days a week. The place is close to Baltimore, too, so with traffic it may take me longer than that. I have too much going on in the evenings with the kiddos, and the things that I want to do. I do have a few other irons in the fire right now so I'm hoping I don't live to regret turning this down. If you have any spare ju-ju I hope that I get offered any of the other 5 opportunities that are in front of me right now.

Sending good ju-ju your way.

You may want to check out the stuff he is watching. He sounds like a smart and sensitive kid and probably takes a lot to heart. I was a lot like that. Even though I knew what I was watching was a movie/show etc and not "real". What got me was that I knew that stuff happened in real life and it make me a spooky, scared little kid. Find out what he is really afraid of. Is it a monster? (I believed that the mummy lived in our attic for years and i would NEVER go to the basement by myself). Is it people, like murderers lurking? Those kind of fears can even come from the news stories.

All that being said, it will get better!

Good Morning.

Here is the flatland it is 33*F and rain.  The snow is gone except for some slush.  The hills may still have snow.  Glad we were able to get out and enjoy it yesterday.

I saw your FB pictures. They were great! Hanna is getting big, too.

They had so much fun!  They still wanted to play when I wanted to go back home, but then last night they were really tired.  Which made for two very well behaved dogs!!  Smile

They looked like they were indeed having a ball!

So far good.  I already missed one 7:30 meeting, but I have three artists hanging artwork up on my artwall, so all is good.  Sounds like you and puppies had a lot of fun in the snow yesterday.

Yup, I'm thinking that you need to watch what he is watching and read what he is reading, and then talk about it.  Whatever you do you don't want to belittle their fears, but help them work through it.  My daughter went through a phase like that.  Hard to deal with while they go through it, but she basically got over it.  Although she as an adult sleeps with a night light.  But then again, she has to be brave because when hubby ships out, it is just her with the kids.  So, I say she got over it.

He is a sensitive kid. He would rather watch police shows on TV than cartoons, I'm talking the reality shows, like State Troopers of Alaska and COPS, stuff like that. I don't like him watching them, but I'm not always around when he has the remote. He also has access to whatever is on youtube, which I am highly considering blocking. Not that I've seen him watching necessarily bad stuff, but it is stuff that is beyond stupid, and not stuff I approve of. I've told him about it, and he stops for awhile, but then I see him watching it again. He's almost 12, isn't it time he gets a job and finds a place of his own?

deehtz - 2012-01-18 6:58 PM I played in the snow with the dogs this afternoon.  I am going to count it as a workout because my legs are sore, and I am certainly tired!  I didn't think that they would stay out so long, especially the little one.  But they both loved the snow!  I made them go back to the house after over an hour.  They are tired but wanted to play more.   I posted some pics of them in the snow on facebook, if you are interested.

Aww! That sounds so cute!

Hi guys!

I went to another boot camp conditioning class tonight. We started out with another timed mile run. I did this one in 9:10. The last one (a few weeks ago) was 10:20 (okay, I walked a little on that one...) But still! Wowza!! Then the instructor kicked our butts with this deck of cards workout routine. We took turns drawing cards, and then doing what the card said to do. Hearts stood for one thing, then clubs another, etc. The face cards (J, K, Q, Joker) stood for 60 seconds of one thing each. So, for example, 8 of hearts = 8 pushups, jack of diamonds = 60 seconds plank, 9 of clubs = 9 burpees and so on. We did 42 cards without stopping. I am toast right now!

Tomorrow I go in for the MRI on my shoulder. Hopefully it says nothing's wrong and that I just need to get all the muscles back in balance. I'll feel a lot better knowing that it's really ok to push through the pain I've been having. I had planned on going to masters swim in the morning for the first time in a looong time. Do you think it's a good idea to go to master's a few hours before the MRI? Or should I sit out until I can catch the next master's class next week? Keep in mind I haven't been able to swim more than 600 yards at a time for almost 6 months because of my shoulder.

I just want you to know that I am hoping for nothing but good news Amy~~~~~~~~

Thanks Jules!

Wow, Dee be careful out there! That must be the storm that is headed our way. We got a little snow early this morning, but we're supposed to have a ton by tomorrow night. Finally! We've been in a winter drought. Some of the professional snowboard and ski competitions have been cancelled and/or postponed due to the utter lack of snow.

I'll check back in later. Have a good day, all!

You be careful, too. What time is your MRI scheduled for?

2:30 for the injection (eek), then the MRI right after, so probably 2:45 or 3:00.

Who's coming along to hold my hand?

Im sorry I was too late to offer ~ but I was there in thought!!! is your hand bruised from the virtual squeezes I was sending your way!??

All I'm going to say is that you've got some MUSCLE!!!
