I'm not sure about the basic black attire you've selected though, Wilson, looks there might be some chafing issues... and nice self portrait, it was so nice you had to post it twice!! (and yes it is GOOD to have you back!! Watch out ladies, let the fun times begin!) OMG... edited to add that if you REALLY look at Wilson's banana sack pictures, well, you can see, ... you can see.... ummmm, the banana..... Edited by hildekq 2012-05-10 6:30 AM |

A note to all of you courtesy on my thoughts during my run this morning: Here's to the MMM'er group for maintaining all your ongoing training. I'm sure you all have full time jobs (and not retired or independently wealthy), a family so many things to balance in your lives and still get your training done when you can! You all should be so proud of yourselves. What a inspiration to read what you all do every day is pretty amazing indeed!! Hang in there and we pray for another day tomorrow to come...... |

Things were just so... normal without you!And Andrea, I just always wear bike shorts on my training rides. And I've learned to get away from cushy seats- they can actually create pressure points, pinching, squishing, etc. A firm seat will be very comfy if it fits your hip bones just right. Just ignore that Wilson guy. He's always been a little off. Just got this from Amazon and tried it out... This is what I'm gonna wear... going for just a simple black suit..... that way I'll be undetectable. Oh yeah and it breathes so the boys don't get overheated.. LMAO
turtle... let's talk about hip bones.. YEAH... one of my fav topics... that and how many red M&Ms are in a package. I have the Adamo Road saddle... love it love it... makes my man parts feel so so good!!! and from what I hear it also makes the woman parts feel so so good... cuz they are so delicate!! LMAO>... Oh Wilson...you were certainly missed! |

Extreme Veteran 607 Zionsville, Indiana | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED!!!! Okay kinda a serious post... kinda... I bought this little thing to help me remember my laps and times.. cuz i can't concentrate on counting during swimming.. so I bought this little gadget It's so cool to at the end of each lap just hit the button with your thumb... I have found an alternative place to put this counter and it makes the swim so so so much more enjoyable... although sometimes I have to stop every 400yds to catch my breath and get a drink of water.... So, it's very versatile and not too bad for $40.... not sure how alternative this would be for the ladies.. just saying... hehe... Thanks for noticing that I'm back.... the newbies will probably hate me and block me as their friends... but hell I already have their home address and have been peeking through some of their windows.. hehe Love, Wilson |

New user 322 KY | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED!!!! Hilde, you're gross. And I love it! Wilson, your humor has been missed. Glad to see you becoming a regular again. ANyway, got a serious question. What do you think of a point to point river swim as a newbie, non-swimmer's first OWS? Yep, I'm talking about myself. There is a sprint triathlon that DH did last year. The swim is in the Ohio River and is a pretty straight shot, and not crowded. Btw, I had to share my feedback from our OWS pool practice last night. My master's class got to have a mass start and swim around buoys. Afterwards, my coach said, "I know you already have plenty of open water experience..." Wth? Glad I fooled her! If she only knew the inner panic I battle through the first 10 minutes of these things. Thoughts that cross my mind during my panic stage: "I'm done with triathlons," "I'm going to only do duathlons from now on," "I can't feel my legs," and (when observing the scubadivers in training at the deep end of every round, "I better never scuba dive. I'd panic for sure." Can you tell I have a little apprehension about the open water! lol! |

Expert 1618 Temple, TX | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED!!!! Erin, I'm not sure what you mean... you jump in the river and then swim (hopefully downstream) to another point and get out? Will you be swimming fairly close to the shore? I think rivers are a bit more beginner friendly because you can reach the shore quickly, as opposed to sending folks out into the middle of a lake! What about current? Could make for a speedy swim! Can you swim it before? Not being crowded is good too! I'd say go for it... talk to Tammy Tucker about swim panics, she's been fighting the demons for 3 years now! She FINALLY had a great swim... but went throug the same thoughts as you... really considered dropping out of tris to do only duathlons... Is there somewhere you can practice OWS other than the pool? It really is a different animal not being able to see anything under the water and having to sight. Just keep telling yourself, "It's only water!" |

New user 322 KY | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED!!!! Holy crap, that is hilarious!!! How long did that take?! lol LMFAO!!! Perfect theme pic for this group:-) How much T.I.T.S...ha ha ha Hilde, the river swim is just that- get in, go downstream and get out. I don't think the current is much of an issue. It's in the Ohio River, which is the same river where they have IM Louisville. And yep, you're pretty close to the shore but not shallow enough to stand. I know rough water won't be an issue anyway! Another question- there are limited wetsuits to try on around ehre. I found this online. It's a men's size, but I have the hips and boobs of a manchild so I'm thinking it may be a better fit: http://www.wetsuitoutlet.com/orca-pflex-sleeveless-size-4/ ANyone know anything about Wetsuit Outlet? Veteran 545 South Shore, MA | Subject: RE: HILDEKQ'S Magnificently Motivational Mentor Group - CLOSED!!!! You guys are killing me over here! I guess I will no longer be reading our MMMer forum with my little kids in the room! My 4 year old kept asking me, "What's so funny, Mama?" when I was reading about Wilson's new cycling attire! And Hilde, LOVED the magazine cover!! What a riot! Erin, I ordered my wetsuit last year online and unfortunately it didn't fit. So I had to send it back. Just make sure the company you order from online has a decent return policy! I wish I had your problem of having the dimensions of a "man child"! I think a men's wetsuit would fit you well. I think a river OWS sounds great - you won't have to worry about waves or too much chop! Melanie, it's funny that you mention getting out of the saddle improving your cycling. I just came home from a ride and found myself getting out of the saddle more for hills and felt like it really helped me attack those hills! I just hope that my thighs don't gain an inch - I'm hoping for the opposite effect, haha! Is anyone racing this weekend? I'm volunteering at the Season Opener sprint tri tomorrow and I'm getting pumped for tri season to finally begin here!! |
