Regular 1779 Auckland, North Island | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED G'day guys. My weekend gave kind of a mixed result. I finished my cycle, 150km in 6 hours 8 minutes. Which going from what I had been doing in training is about what I should have expected for a time, so I am relatively happy with it. BUT, I let my friends talk me into starting with a faster group than I should have, the end result of this was going far to fast to early, and blowing up my legs far too soon in the race. If I had been smarter about things I know I could have gone around faster. At the end of the day, when I consider that my longest ride before the weekend was only 104km, and 2 weeks ago my longest ever was 84km I'm just happy that I finished! A race report will be up as soon as I get some time to write one. Until then here's a photo, taken just after the 100km mark, about the time my legs started to cramp up... Veteran 446 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED It was a good weekend for me. I was able to run (with my new watch that i love) sat and sun. I am starting to see small improvements with my running since I started running by HR. I have a sore hammy but I believe I caused that by strengthening my hips and quads to overcome my IT issues and now I have an imbalance. Time to strengthen hams. |

Extreme Veteran 585 Price, UT | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED Well the vacation was wonderful, but alas it is over. I think I made a nice tweek in my stroke after watching a video of me swimming. I worked on widening the catch and it feels much better. Looks like you all kept very busy while I was chillin on the big island. |

Extreme Veteran 3020 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED Morning, all! I got in a 6 mile run this morning. I was supposed to swim this afternoon while my husband's aunt watched the younger kids, and then I was planning on taking in sugar cookies to Conrad's first grade class. Conrad was up all night throwing up. He'll be home from school for the day, so it looks like swimming isn't going to happen. Maybe I'll squeeze in an easy bike ride this afternoon, if he's feeling better. Welcome back, Terry. Can't believe you were just in Hawaii. Soooo jealous! |

Pro 4672 Nutmeg State | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED I'm jealous -- Hawaii and New Zealand. I'm still struggling with being sick. I felt better on Sunday but yesterday and this morning haven't been good. As long as I'm on medicines I feel okay but as soon as they wear off I'm a huge mess. Plus work is incredibly stressful. They've laid people off for low hours and I feel like I'm next on the list so there's no way I can take a sick day or be out of the office. |

Pro 4723 CyFair | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED Cut my long swim session a little short today. Over did lifting yesterday, specifically back, and everything started to fall. So longish swim today and push day on the weights. I'll hit the trainer whenever my job frustrates me enough today to warrant it. Sooo about 9AM LOL. It's supposed to rain here all week, but my run partner still wants to roll tomorrow. So a little running in the rain. |

Master 2151 Johns Creek, Georgia | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2012 - CLOSED Finally went to the doctor yesterday afternoon. Sinus infection (I think, I actually don't remember what she said, I was in a fog) so I'm on antibiotics for 10 days. Still feel like crap today, I think it will be tomorrow before I notice any improvement. I should have stayed home yesterday and today, but I have so many projects and meetings going on, I can't stay at home! Feel better Kelly, maybe you should run to the doctor and get some prescription medicine. |

I never get sick so I'm very bad at being sick. I used to never get sick either. And I mean never! This last year I've been sick 3 times, all requiring medication to clear up. I don't do well being sick either. It seems to me there are more and more nasty germs floating around these days. (That or work stress is doing it to me.) I'm sure you know your body well enough, just take care of yourself. |
