I am very, very glad it is Friday!

Since I am wfh today I let Keri sleep in, she's still not 100% back from when she was sick and she was on the run 3 nights this week, I figured she could use the sleep. She got a little over an hour of extra sleep. I took her to Grandma's and put her on the bus. Almost as she was stepping on the bus the snow/mix started coming down. I've heard several different predictions for today so I have no idea what we'll get.

I was texting Kim this morning and she's in VT. She figures she's stuck there for a few days. Could be pretty ugly along the coast and in the NE today and tomorrow.

I hope the snow in your area is more fun than PIA.

It does look serious for New England, though.

You would think Vermont would be ready for it more than most places, though.

Two years ago I bought snow shoes and I haven't gotten to use them yet.

I think what we get here is just going to be a PITA - ice with  1"-3" of snow on top.

On the brighter side, since I'm tucked in all cozy in my warm house, I just did some birthday shopping for the boy. Less than a month until I have a teenager in the house AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!

I get a teenager AND a 10 year old this year, plus my 40th birthday. Big year!

His dad is making a donation to the local animal shelter in his name, I'm going to make one probably to all the animal shelters I listed on FB in his name. I did get him a video game I know he'd like. He has also played with making stop motion videos before and I know he'd like to do more, but I won't let him use my good camera, so I bought a point and shoot that he can use, and my husband is fixing up a laptop we have to put the video software on so he can make and edit his own videos. I wish they had this cool stuff when I was a kid.

Thanks for the remind. I need to do that, too. What a cool request for a birthday.

I hear you. I want a "do over" on a lot of things. I mean, Kayaks! Girls can do sports now! Cameras, and computers. Oh MY!

KAYAKS! - Since I didn't make it to Key West I spent my vacation money on a new whitewater kayak and outfitting for it. I WANT to and WILL get some time in moving water this year.

GIRLS ROCK AT SPORTS! Whenever I think of the "you throw like a girl" comment I've heard far too often I think I can throw a ball, and so can my 9 year old daughter, and she's better than some boys I've seen.

Hey Robin! We aren't going to make it down in July, but we might be able to come down for the Lake Lure Olympiad. Do you know of any place we could stay for a few nights?

Um... yah, I know of a place.... You had the key once. There are cabins, too if you want more privacy. Either is great!

I didn't realize we didn't have privacy, and honestly I think the kids would be upset with me if I got a cabin.

It's still a long way off, but school won't be started yet, and we have nothing else planned. It will be right after our 15th anniversay, too, so I'm thinking I can use that to talk Donnie into the trip.

GREAT! Tell Keri that there really are no ghosts. I'll tell the ghosts to amscray for the duration!

I've already made the cookies for the motorcycle event tomorrow.  Woot!  Ate a few of them, darn.

Will head out to go swimming in a bit.

Also on the plan today is to pay bills and get a start on the taxes.  Hubby hates to be around when I am doing those things, but sometimes I wish he would do them.  

tonight is my other bookclub meeting.  I have not been to it in a while, but I won 12 copies of a book that I am sharing with both bookclubs to read for next month.  There is an online discussion that the publisher is promoting, so I signed up and we were one of the many clubs who got books.  So, enough to go around in both clubs.

I'm going to assume the hard way involves a lot of bumps & bruises, aches & pains.

Yup! and a lot of the time I have no idea what I did wrong, so no lesson learned.

I have been tempted to give it a try.  But don't really have a proper bike for it. Plus I am not sure that I want to risk the injuries.  But who knows, maybe someday.  This is my same concern about rollerblading.

There is a group of girls in this area that MTB on a set of trails in the county.  Sometimes they do rides specifically for beginners.
