If the mockee does not realize he is being mocked, is it really mocking?

I'd go by and say "Should we sit down first thing Monday to go over this?"

I just did that with my boss 30 minutes ago.  Worked well.

I'm suddenly self-conscious.

It is definitely still mocking, but the entertainment value of the mocking may be decreased depending upon whether or not you wish them to know they are being mocked.

I was speaking rhetorically.  I, of course, would never mock.

Mockery is in the intent of the Mocker.  I would say yes, it's mocking.

If you feel like you've been mocked but the person sincerely never intended to mock, then it wasn't mocking.

I'm gonna get that tattooed on my lower back.
