Expert  1076   Las Vegas, NV |  Subject: RE: Taser Running IIIt's baking HOT here in Vegas. I left at 6am on Sunday for the 50 mile ride but was already hot in the morning. This was one of the first rides I think I've been seriously dehydrated. Didn't think too much of it until about the last 30 minutes and then I was just -done-. Gonna plan better next time. I was able to log in a couple times, but gave up trying to update my logs. I'll update them soon, maybe during lunch. I got back the Saturday, and had a race on Sunday. It was so much fun! Except for the 12 year old that passed me on the run, and the 70 year old that finished 3 minutes faster than me. Now I have motivation for my next race! Huh. A 65 year old finished 12 minutes faster than me. That is very motivating!  Glad you had fun! In my HIM one of the few people I passed on the bike was a 65 year old dude. I was STOKED I passed him. Then a few minutes later, he passed me.  I did end up passing him and dropping him but geez, good on him for being out there. That is major inspiration. I hope I am still out there when I am in my 60s! I think the same thing every race! |

That's what us Iowans say when we are trying to argue that our summers are worse I've been to Vegas in August. Hot is hot, no matter how dry it is. |

I'm only doing one race in the month of July. Who knows, I might actually get some training done that month. Well of course you can only do one in July. Other than staying hydrated, it's a lot easier for me to run in this climate instead of the midwest where it'd be 100/100 (100 and 100% humidity). |
