Finished the sprint today - wow! don't know what to say, it was tough.  Water was 64 degrees, the bike was only 10 miles, but in 5 miles i had over 900 feet of elevation gain with the hardest hill at about 12%.  And the run had 4 huge long hills. Oh yeah and the wind... headwind on the bike climb probably around 20 with gusts to 30. I think I averaged around 7 on the way up the climb, with a whopping 45 mph on the way down!

Really feel proud of myself on this one, I didn't walk on the bike or run. Time was dismal, but I imagine everyones was. Will be interesting to see where I am in th pack. Mostly seasoned veterans on this race.

Will post a RR when I get the results back.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Julie and I survived the Boulder Peak Olympic.

Here are a few pics. Mostly of scenery driving in to Boulder and race morning.

Julie always looks so much more alive and awake in the morning then I do. Tongue out  I couldn't even manage a complete smile. Must have had the dreaded Old Stage Road climb (15%) on my mind.

Thanks to everyone for the inspires in the past few days! My sprint went great, unofficial time was 1:05 and I placed 67 out of 500. I'm off next week camping with the family so I might not be able to check in. This group is great and helped me to achieve my goal I'm so glad to be a part of it.

DUDE!!!! That's fantastic! Great job!

Yes, we survived (Kathleen kicked butt on that bike!)...I however have been beaten by Old Stage, that hill wins...I WILL NOT try it ever again. Yes I had to walk the stupid hill although truth be told I don't think it changed my bike time much but my legs were incredibly shaky and walking that hill is almost as hard as riding it. All in all though I'm pleased with my race. The biggest issues I seemed to have came in getting there, set up and out of transition in time and T2, couldn't remember were I needed to be. Will work on race report for blog and let you know when it's up.

Outstanding racing today, folks!

Adam- I knew you were gonna rock it and you certainly did.

Robin- Sounds like a tough race. Great job on those hills, especially descending. Once I get over 40 MPH I get chicken and hit the brakes.

Kathleen- Another great race, especially on the bike. Thanks for all the pictures, very pretty scenery. I must say, you have the same look I have race day morning; slightly lost

Julie- Well done! That hill didn't beat you. You got to the top, came down the other side, and finished the race very well, didn't you?

Congratulations everyone!!!

Great pictures Kathleen!

Looks like most of us are dealing with some hot weather!  Train smart and stay hydrated (and keep fingers crossed that it cools off by Sunday!)

I either need a different camera or a different resizing software as I don't get the vivid results you guys are all getting posting pics!

Wow! Everyone rocked their races! Great job Adam, Robin, Kathleen & Julie - hills are tough!

Looking forward to our family relay this Sunday - I am swimming, my husband is biking and our 16 year old son is running, should be a good time. Always fun to cheer them on and I really like being done after the siwm Laughing

My RR from this past weekend is done..Was on track for a PR but I lost it in the run, my legs just went dead..I told my wife tonight after working in the heat all day up and down ladders in attics, etc. my workout tonight felt better than the race run..Go figure.. Hope all is well with everyone keep up the great work..

Believe it or not I used my cell phone    Once I e-mailed myself the pics I used a photo program to crop the images which made them bigger.

For those interested in learning how to post pics in the forum, I was having problems doing it until I downloaded the software Ken mentioned awhile back http://www.irfanview.com/which allowed me to resize the pics. BT doesn't allow you to attach any pic that is over 100kb.

Once you have the pic resized you check the box below (bottom left of the post) that says "attach a file after posting" and it will allow you to attach pics. Hope that helps.

Maybe that is why yours come out larger and clearer.  I use the insert image button above in the tool bar.  I will have to try that next time.

I took a pic on my cell phone, uploaded it to photobucket, and then clicked the lick picture button in the tool bar.  My phone doesn't take too bad pics for what it is.  I tried resizing in photobucket - but that didn't seem to make a difference when I posted it here.

I am off to Mennonite country for the weekend.  Visiting my parents out in PA.  I will have to take some pictures while I run!!  Maybe I can catch a horse and buggy on my camera...
