Back atchya Kristen!  Sounds like you're having a busy but good time at home.  I know the girls must be over the moon .

Over the moon & back!

Been chatting w/ Mindy about getting together before I go back for a ride (or a coffee or a margarita...) - I was going to give you a holler, but after hearing your margarita stories, I'm scared. LOL!

Hey Kristen, welcome.  Don't you sometimes feel like the Twisnibbin thread moves at a different warp speed than real life?

So good to see you're spending so much time with the kids.  I bet they really miss you.  Enjoy the weekend.  When do you fly back, or are you home until after Christmas break?

Warp speed - you betcha...even when I'm sitting right there reading it sometimes! I hit post and then 20 new messages appear. (Y'know who I'm talking about . . . Dee, Beth, Cat . . . yeah, you!) Having a ball with the family. I'm here until Monday morning, back to Atlanta for 2 weeks, and then home for good December 10 or 11! For like ever. (Sorry, Mila - love Atlanta and all, but...) Unless they ask me to come back (not bloody likely, but we can all dream) - and then I'll move the fam. I'M SO EXCITED TO COME HOME! Kristen

So the stint is over early December.  Wow.  I don't know how you did it.  Must be tough to stay hydrated down there with the water shortage .

Hey Kristen!  Sounds like you had a busy but fun holiday.    I hear you on the young 'uns...my grandchildren are 1-1/2 and 5-1/2 and the oldest one gets a kick out of having painted nails.

No such thing as "too much wine"...in fact I have a glass of Burgundy next to the 'puter!

So true, so true, so true...but it's only 10:30 in the morning, so maybe I'll wait just a bit before cracking open today's.

I'm thinking we might be trying a sparkling pinot noir/chardonnay, but I'll let you know. (Last night we had a gorgeous meritage...yum!)

Water shortage, too much wine - all the same thing.

By the way - I was trying to ship wine to my brother in Edina for X-mas and the website wouldn't let me...whassup with that? (I think I'll be lame and buy him a gift card to Surdyks instead...)

Well folks, I did my 10-miler in sub freezing temps.  I'm done for the day training-wise.

Gonna spend time with Cindy this morning (all the trim is up, so NO honey-do stuff this morning), then down to Mankato (remember Little House on the Prairie?) to visit with friends.  I'll be in and out a few times today...

Have a great Saturday!

There's a ban on any shipments to Edina.  They're trying to wean them off of too much attention.  You know...E.D.I.N.A...Every Day I Need Attention...ooh...don't tell your brother I said that...

Mornin' all.

Wow, it is COLD today! Woke-up early and went for run just as sunlight was starting to peer through.

Hey Sal, running in freezing temps, do you wear coils on your shoes when it's icy?  I hit a few ice patches today, and thought how much harder this will be once the snow starts to fall.

Morning Heather!  When you say coils, do you mean like springs?   Nope.  Don't wear anything on the shoes.  When I get to icy patches, I just take really small steps.

You doing the SLC 5K or marathon next spring?  I did the SLC marathon 2 years ago.  The altitude killed me...

Yeah, I saw these "coils" in the the Campmor catalog.  They're like crampons for runners. Kind of worries me having some kind of metal in contact w/ ice.  Gettin' ready to head out shoppin gwith DH, I'm thinkin' of heading by the running store - never actually been there.

I don't think I'm going to participate in the SLC Marathon myself.  Forced DH to set goals, he wants to do a marathon.  THinkin' that the SLC will be great 1/2 mary for him to try, afterall, it's mainly downhill.  We'll see how he does in that and then maybe he might be able to do another later in the summer and possibly try the Park City Marathon later on.

After ten yrs of acclimation what still gets me is the dry air, I was wheezing into my second mile this mornin'.

Hello all, Sorry I have been out for a while. I enjoyed a great open water swim in the cove yesterday. I finally felt comfortable in the wet suit and completed the 1/2 mile swim, now I'm ready for Sunday. Note to self: no more swimming during low tide, tore my hand up on the rocks when I was trying to exit the water.

While I was out I also did some surfing but it wasn't so hot since the tide was way out. Either way it was relaxing, especially when there is no one around to have to entertain. I followed it up with some shopping at B&L Bikes for some last minute items for the tri on Sunday.

I'm going for a short run this morning and then it's off to do some work for about four hours. After that I will be driving up to San Dimas, staying at the hotel and hitting the race in the morning.

Oh yeah I got and email from the race people and I'm sure it has freaked some people out from what I have read. The course was advertised 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike, 4 mile run. They just notified everyone it is 14 miles for the bike and 4.5 for the run. I thought it funny because i already figures that out on Monday. The bike course is actually 14.8 and the run is 5 miles. Either way I'm ready for it.

Ok time to go run. I hope everyone had a great turkey day. I didn't get a chance to catch up but I noticed that there was a whole bunch of wine drinking going on.

Hey nibbs! Hope everyone's T-giving was relaxing. Sounds like some of you were up to some fun stuff. Way to go ont he swims/runs/trainers guys! I had my first massage with the new MT. She's awesome (thanks Heather!). My ankle's still a little sore, but not like it was, and I spent a good hour or 2 walking around Costco with the fam last night...
Hopefully the limp will go away soon so I can go get fitted for new running shoes. (well, technically I can walk without a limp, but it hurts...) **Merry Christmas to meeee***

Still waiting for music recomendations, LOL. DH is home, Yay! So, we'll be hanging lights on the house, etc, so I'll probably not be checking back in until Monday. Just in time for Twisnibbins V?

Taking a quick break. The mountain of books is almost gone. Now to get them back off the carts and onto the shelves. LOL

Also got a quick walk around the park during lunch. Yahoo, one more mile down.

Hector have a great race tomorrow (or is it next Sunday?)

Kristen, when you head back to Richmond maybe our water crisis will be over, LOL. I'm sure that Atlanta will miss you.

I promise I shall try to behave.  I'm flexible and live kinda but not really half way between you and Mindy (but close to Mindy's family).  Did you notice that I glossed over the ride part and went straight for the margaritas?  Coffee's good, too.  Oh yeah, and a ride would be fine as well .

Nibbins Notes 11/23

It’s been kind of slow in Twisnibbins the past few days.  Lots of folks are traveling, shopping, decorating, and entertaining family and friends. (although I would venture a guess that we probably still had more activity than most threads – LOL)

Yanti – has finally earned the title that matches her stars – she is now to be referred to as Master Mistress Yanti

Max – Did not battle aggressive moms at Walmart for the latest bargains.  Posted a rainbow of nail colors for us to select from – The color on the left ring finger won the vote (now if I only knew which color that was, hmmmm)  – it must have taken a while to paint each nail a different color!  His A race for next year will be the November edition of the Ironman of Arizona – GO MAX!!!!!

Sal – had lots of honey dos yesterday and had a bowl of cheerios and three mint bars, for breakfast, which was promptly followed by a shameless double post! Lol.  Despite lots of casual walkers and strollers, Sal managed to do an awesome job in his race

Mila- Saturday got off to a bit of a rough start and she had to wait until later in the afternoon to get her manicure and swim in (Sal is it true that you question Mila’s ability to follow a training plan?  LOL).  Mila is sporting a lovely manicure featuring OPI’s Romeo and Juliet

Pam – Slept until 11 on Friday (can you say heaven?)

Heather –braved the early morning sales at ToysRUs.  Got what she was looking for and doesn’t regret her decision to stick it out.  Did the Circuit city order go through?  Ahhh, the secret of avoiding the long lines at Kohls is to purchase a jewelry item and check out at the jewelry counter – clever!

Kendra – spent Friday morning shopping with the hubby and managed to get an extra 10% off of her items at Kohls – she was definitely in the right place at the right time!.  She did not ride the silver comet, due to weather conditions.  Has 2 trees up with lights and is busy planning a party already!

Kristen – is having a WONDERFUL time with her family.  She is spending lots of time playing with her kids!
