I hear you there. I need some serious bike time, and now that it's cold, it will mean hours on the trainer. So -- what does everyone do to pass time on the trainer? Movies Movies Movies..... Got a long headphone cable and plug it right into the TV. Then I have a stand and use TrainerRoad.com on a laptop and just pick a workout that has about the same time as the the BT plan with about the same "effort" .. Trying to keep that line in the green on the PC helps motivate. |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: November Challenge – Total Distance Last week folks. How is everyone doing? I am going to get my strength in since I have to do PT sessions. I am only counting the actual "work" part of PT. I bombed out on the running, I just didn't get it in before the surgery, and I COULD have if I had put my nose to the grindstone (that sounds like it would HURT). I may get the bike in, but I really overestimated how much this dam surgery would hurt. I have 4 hours left to do and in theory, only should do about 20 minutes a day. Though they did say I could do it as long as there was no major pain. We shall see. Going to give it a try here in a few minutes. Go get those goals everyone! |

Either shows I have DVR'ed or football - tonight, I will be knocking out 2 hours on the trainer watching Sunday night football |

Expert 1059 Lakeville, MN | Subject: RE: November Challenge – Total Distance Well, it looks like I bit off a little more than my schedule would allow me to chew With my pool closed the last 10 days, and leaving for vacation tomorrow morning, my swim/bike are about as complete as they are going to get. I plan on bringing my running gear to do laps around my wife's small home town for the remainder of the week, but I doubt I will be able to put in a 35+ mile week....but who knows Good luck to all of the rest of you in hitting your goals, and happy early thanksgiving! |

If I didn't have that, then I would need a good window to look out of while listening to music or an audio book. Originally posted by prof40 I usually watch something on TV. Expert 1187 Ontario | Subject: RE: November Challenge – Total Distance Well I totally skipped my Monday long run for no good reason except I didn't want to do it. Now I'm working nights and it will be tough to reach my challenge goal. On this last week I need some encouragement from all of you to run... tell me what you have planned for the week so I can feel guilty if I skip my runs!!! |

I can't guilt you into anything with what I have planned, but I don't need to. You will feel tons of guilt all by yourself when others reach their goal and you don't. Go and run!
did that work? |

did that work? Thanks but no, it didn't work... lol. I'm on my last of three 12 hour night shifts tonight (Wed) so I WILL run Thurs, Fri and Sat BUT I need 16.25 miles to reach my goal and I'm not sure that is going to happen. I'll need an 8 mile and two 4 mile runs... doable, just need to do it !! Maybe I will make my goal !! |

Member 390 | Subject: RE: November Challenge – Total Distance Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Just trying to decide if I should swim today as the YMCA will be open from 7 am to 11 am or if I should just stay home and enjoy the day. Have met my swim goal but need a mile more for the run and 14 more for the bike. We have three more days to meet our goals. Looks like most people will be able to reach at least one or two of there goals. I hate when work interferes with my fun time. But without working I guess I would not have the money to do the fun thing. |

Member 390 | Subject: RE: November Challenge – Total Distance feeling very depressed hoping if I go for a run it will help. Feels cold outside but I know once I start running it will be fine. Guess I have to push myself to get dress and run outside. I only have a mile to run to meet by running goal. |
